Year 2E, F, & G will present their performance on Wednesday afternoon commencing at 2.00PM. Our music teachers Mrs Richardson and Ms Hari and the Year 2 teachers have done an amazing job in producing the musical. Well done to everyone. Year 4 students have been on an excursion on Monday to the Materials Resource Facility at the Waste Management facility at Portsmith. Students learned about what happens to our household waste as part of a sustainability unity looking at using our natural resources more wisely. PREP Wow! Wow! Wow! Did you all hear that a satellite (space junk from NASA) landed just in time for the 6 Prep classes to investigate and learn about space from our very own NASA scientist, Mr Harris, last Friday? Please ask your Prep student for the low down. We look forward to seeing you all this week at the Homework Sightword and Reading Information sessions. Please check your class teacher for times that may suit you. YEAR 1 As part of our Geography unit this term Year 1 has a excursion to Centenary Lakes in Week 4. 1C,D,E,F and G will be going on the 3rd of May and 1A and B will be going on the 4th of May. The purpose of this excursion is to learn about our local places and the features of local places and how people care for places. A note was sent home last week. Please fill out the attached permission form and return to your child's classroom teacher as soon as possible. We also require 2 parent volunteers for each class so if you are available to assist on the day please let your child's teacher know.
YEAR 2 Congratulations to 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D for their wonderful performance of The Wackadoo Zoo on Monday afternoon. 2E, 2F and 2G have their performance in the PAC Wednesday 20th April starting at 2pm. Gold coin donations at the door help to cover the costs of the costumes provided. The students and Year 2 teachers would like to thank Mrs Richardson and Miss Hari for the many hours they have spent in the production of the musical. Thank you to those parents who donated materials for the performance and those who were able to help on the day. YEAR 3 The children have settled into the new term well. The Year Three students will focus their literacy learning on narrative writing. Please spend some time with your child talking about the stories they have read. Discuss characters and settings from both books and movies and discuss the types of adjectives used to describe them. In Science the children are engaged with their new topic of Day and Night. This unit will enable them to develop an understanding as to how the Sun, Moon and Earth all work within our Solar System. YEAR 6 Year 6 students have returned from holidays with energy and enthusiasm, and are organised and ready to learn. Students and teachers are looking forward to an action-packed Term 2, including exciting events such as our camps at Holloways Beach Environmental Education Centre, inter-school sport and the Athletics Carnival.
