PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Hi Families of Frankston SDS, Monday March 18 at 6.30pm the Frankston Special Developmental School Council will host its Annual General Meeng. This is a public meeng open to all members of our school community. I invite you to come along and contribute to this meeng. We have a great school council who are always striving to make our school a beer place to learn. Thank you to those people, who have already nominated for posions on our school council for this year. School councillors play a key role in government schools like Frankston SDS, supporng our staff to provide the best educaonal programs for our students. I am most appreciave of the me they commit to our school out of their busy lives. If you are interested in joining the FSDS school council nominaons are now open. We have five parent posions that need to be filled. Self-nominaon forms are available at the office and must be lodged by 4.00pm, Monday March 11. School council meets Monday evenings for about two hours eight mes a year. If you are interested and would like to know more about the role of school councillors please feel free to give me a call. I am excited to inform you that on Wednesday March 20 we will be hosng our annual family fun night at Frankston SDS. This evening will provide the opportunity for families to meet the staff members working with their children this year. They can mix with other families in our school community in an informal friendly atmosphere. There will be excing acvies to engage our students and their siblings and we feel confident students will feel safe and secure in the familiar environment of their school yard. I encourage you to get along; it should be a fun night. Finally I was thrilled to announce the results of the recent school captain elecons at our last assembly. Our students take the elecon process very seriously; they are aware of the great honour it is to be a school captain. To be eligible to be a school captain at Frankston SDS candidates must make a small presentaon to their peers outlining the aributes required to be an effecve school captain and the personal qualies that they would bring to the table. Congaratulaons to the following students: Daniel Magarry, Thomas Dornan (school captains) Patrick Wheeler, Amy Godkin (school vice captains) Max Farrow, Phoebe Hayes–Brown, Josh Marsden Pos and Thivia Shrikanthan (house captains). Our school captains will be presented to the school community in an official ceremony in the school hall tomorrow. I encourage you to come along, it ’s sure to be a full house. The beginning of the year is so important for our students. A good start will set up the rest of the year for success.
