Principal’s Newsletter Lopez Elementary – A Leader in Me School May 5, 2017 “Leaders Today – Leading Tomorrow” Dr. Traci Gile, Principal Phone: 970-488-8800 lop.psdschools.org [email protected] Dear Parents, Daily Messages from Parents We are averaging 20-30 messages to classrooms daily making it necessary to interrupt classes earlier and earlier. To cut down on some of these calls, we are asking you to discuss after-school plans with your child before they come to school in the morning. It is also helpful to write a reminder note and place it in your child’s backpack. We know and understand that some messages are unavoidable. We appreciate your help. Congratulations Sarah Weeks, Rotary Teacher of the Month Sarah Weeks was selected by our staff to be the Rotary Teacher of the Month for May. Collindale, Southridge and City Park Nine will offer free green fees to all current 5th graders. Children currently enrolled as 5th graders (2016/2017 school year) qualify for the offer. The offer was created to help increase exposure to the game of golf while increasing golf rounds played by children. The offer will be active from June 1 to August 31. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult golf partner who is actively playing a round of golf with the child. The City felt it was important to require an “adult playing partner” so adults can mentor and teach children about the game while sharing valuable time with them on the course. For more information please visit fcgov.com/golf or 970.221.6300. Celebrating a Year of Service- May 22 10:30 – 11:00 Students will lead our last assembly of the year on May 22.
