EnergyGlass is designed for multiple applications. One of the main uses is as a window system installed in new buildings or as a retrofit in existing buildings, which provide a large area for collection of solar energy. Installation of EnergyGlass is similar to installation of conventional window glass or curtain glass. EnergyGlass has the ability to be vertically or horizontally installed. Unlike conventional photovoltaic or thin film applications, which only generate energy 4-6 hours per day at peak efficiency, EnergyGlass generates power from natural or man-made light sources, producing energy 10-12 hours per day at a peak performance of 1-3 watts per square foot of window glass.

Saf-Glas is a Florida Limited Liability Company that manufactures and distributes impact, bullet, bomb blast, hurricane, and forced entry resistant glass products. EnergyGlass, LLC is a Florida Limited Liability Company that manufactures and distributes EnergyGlass™. The Saf-Glas product line was initially created in 1992. Security Impact Glass, which was established in 1997, utilized the Saf-Glas intellectual property to fabricate all products offered from 1997–2006. In 2006 a hard asset purchase occurred and the remaining three partners, including Art Marino formed Saf-Glas in 2006. In 2011 a fourth partner entered the company. Art Marino is one of the managing member/owners of Saf-Glas, LLC.

Fire Resistant FBH (Fire Bomb Hurricane) makeup has been certified compliant by the Department of the Army, Wilfred Baker Engineering, Underwriter Laboratories and HP White Labs. Scope of testing: Fire Test of window assemblies-UL9: Test assembly (52"x101") consisting of 1/8" aluminum, steel and 9/16" thick FBH glass. Fire endurance test: (1 hour duration at 1700° Fahrenheit). A standard time temperature curve for control of the test was utilized. Thermo couplers and radiometers measured test heat exposure. Hose stream test: Immediately following the fire endurance test the fire exposed side of the assembly was subjected to the impact, erosion, and cooling effects of the hose stream. The hose stream was delivered through a 2 1/2" hose discharging through a national standard clay pipe of corresponding size equipped with a 1 1/8" discharge tip of the standard taper smooth bore pattern. The distance from the test assembly was twenty feet.

Blast Resistant Glass (Shock Tube Test) Saf-Glas has been tested by Wilfred Baker Engineering in conjunction with the US Department of the Army. Window dimensions were 50" x 68". The laminated glass tested was 9/16" SAF-GLAS annealed. The window was tested by Wilfred Baker Engineering using its large shock tube to apply a nominal blast load having a peak per duration of 22 msec. The response of the window was documented and graded according to the GSA Window Hazard Classification System as modified by the Blast Mitigation Action Group for the U.S. Government sponsored testing program. SAF-GLAS was Arena tested at the Quantico Marine Base in conjunction with the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Forced Entry SAF-GLAS forced entry glass provides the ultimate in protection of life and property. Upon impact, although the outer glass layers may break, the strength and resiliency of the SAF-GLAS polycarbonate inter-layer will repel attack. SAF-GLAS can be fabricated to resist any physical assault or intentional impact by increasing the thickness of its proprietary interlayers and makeups. Hurricane and Tornado Impact Resistant SAF-GLAS products consist of a variety of laminates that have passed large missile impact and cyclic wind pressure tests. Laminated glass is a multifunctional glazing material that can readily be used in several applications ranging from Residential to Commercial installations.

WHAT IS ENERGY GLASS? EnergyGlass ™ is the only optically clear building integrated photovoltaic window system in the world. EnergyGlass™ uses inorganic nano particles that are co-infused in a polycarbonate interlayer, which is then laminated between two lites of 1/4" inch glass. The nano particles redirect components of the light spectrum to the edge of the glass while letting most of the spectrum through. The light that reaches the edge of the glass is collected and sent to our patented edge frame collectors. Because our edge collectors are at the edge of our glass and actually fit inside of the photovoltaic curtain wall framing system, they are protected and do not suffer degradation from IR as typical solar cell installations do.

EnergyGlass™ collects light from any natural or man-made sources and converts this light to direct current (DC). The power produced can be used DC to DC without any transaction loss or can be inverted to alternating current (AC) and returned directly to the main electrical grid. Proprietary frame collectors and heat sink coatings transfer light energy to any electrical power requirements.

New and renewable sources of energy have received a great deal of attention since the World Summit on Sustainable Development was held in Johannesburg, RSA in 2002. Solar, wind, and hydroelectric power not only produce minimal carbon emissions once the generating systems are in place, they also help reduce poverty through improved energy access in underserved areas. Energy from renewable sources currently accounts for less than five percent of global energy supply. Though the use of renewables is increasing faster than any other resource stream, widespread adoption is constrained by a multitude of policy, regulatory and financial barriers. Support for research and development, market incentives, and energy prices that fully reflect environmental and social costs may all contribute to take-up. One such initiative is the Clean Development Mechanism established under the Kyoto Protocol, which provides financing for providing renewable energy technologies in developing countries.

Enhancing energy efficiency may be one of the most promising, and most immediate, ways of cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Wasted energy contributes to global warming and higher energy costs. Squeezing the most out of energy resources can save money and have a major impact on the fight against climate change. Promoting the use of low energy light bulbs and setting tougher standards for cars, factories, power plants and building heating systems are just some of the ways energy efficiency can be improved. Energy efficiency in industry is improving in major industrialized and developing countries. While there was a decline in global energy intensity of more than 28 per cent during the past decade, global investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy reached a record $100 billion in 2006. A wide variety of energy efficiency policies and programs have been implemented in many countries to increase productivity while reducing energy consumption.

Typical Solar Incentives in the US, Programs and Credits Federal incentives to be considered: 1. Federal 30% credit now in place that is uncapped until

2017. 2. PPA where you can sell back electricity to the utility at a profit; (dependent on utility). 3. SREC’S; may be purchased or sold. 4. 50% accelerated depreciation of solar project now in place. 85% of Capital spent on project may be depreciated at 29.8 cents per dollar. The other 15% may fall into four other classes with various terms. 5. Property tax exemptions. 6. Sales tax exemptions. 7. Carbon Credits. 8. Subsides for renewable energy projects. 9. Performance based incentives. 10. Loan and grant programs. 11. Expedited permitting. 12. Jobs incentive funds.

INCENTIVE: New York (an example): For review; using EnergyGlass™ on a window retro-fit of a building located in New York. These projects may be eligible for the following: 1. 30% FED credit 2. Accelerated depreciation at +/- 28% of

installation cost. 3. NYSERDA rebate at $3.00/ watt up to 40 kw

and then additional $2.00 per watt totaling $5.00 up to 80KW.

4. Income tax credits are 25% of installation cost of the project up to $5,000.00.

5. 15 year property tax exemption on the system.

6. No sales tax on the purchase of the system.

Scenario One: Without incorporating EnergyGlass™; the building owner would have to purchase complete the window frame, glass and installation. Scenario Two: When incorporating EnergyGlass™; the window frame, glass and installation becomes a Solar photovoltaic system installation and as such may become eligible for Federal, State, and Local incentives declared on window frame, glass and installation provided in example above. Pursuant to forwarded IRS correspondence, the building could also be entitled to the same incentives to that section of the building wall or concrete footing that is determined as critical to stabilize the photovoltaic window. Cost for these materials and labor are unknown at this time as we do not know construction type, materials etc. Samples of State Incentives and Credits: California: 50% state credit to 1 MW plus items of above. Chicago: 30% state credit to $50,000 plus items of above. New Jersey: $.75 per watt plus items above. Georgia: 35% state incentive plus items above. Hawaii: 35% state credit plus items above.
