The Year 1 and 2 students began the day with the first race. The students had been put through their paces by Mrs Goosen in their Sport lessons to prepare for the event and their hard work really paid off. The pupils’ energy and enthusiasm really set the tone for the day and they should be proud of their performances. The Year 3-6 students then took centre stage and excelled both in terms of effort and their encouragement for each other. The House spirit and camaraderie on display created an extremely posive atmosphere. It was really pleasing to see pupils use the event to strive towards achieving their personal best. A big thank you should go to all the parents who assisted on the day. You were a great team and your efforts ensured the carnival was a success. ACC CROSS COUNTRY TEAM RESULTS Below are the confirmed ACC Cross Country School Team scores for the Top 10 Schools only.

Preparations are now being made for the ACC ‘A’ Division Athletics in Term 3 where we hope for another successful result with approximately 150 students set to compete from Peter Moyes ACS.

YEAR 7 & JUNIOR WINTER CAS SPORT RESULTS

There were some highly successful Year 7 and Junior results against St. Stephen’s Duncraig last week. A number of teams are in strong contention for achieving Grand Final qualification in Week 11 with only St. Stephen’s Carramar remaining to play.

Click on the purple paperclip for Ladders at the time of writing . . . many teams have improved their position following last week’s successful results which are not reflected.

Year 7 Boys Australian Football Season Match Report and Wrap-Up Once again the boys got off to a slow start allowing the opponents to run free and kick many goals in the first half. Despite this, the centre line played extremely well. Starting in the ruck was Josh Tasmer who continued to get his hands on the ball first, and most of the time punching it forward. Even on the ground Josh was able to find the ball and kick it out the congested area. Unfortunately, it just kept on coming straight back to him. Josh was ably assisted by the Captain for the day in Finn Nichols. His work under around the packs was outstanding and he really showed the desire to actually win the ball. Quinn Amos showed his potential by playing his best game of the season. When he was thrown into the centre, his desire was also excellent and won many contests pushing the ball forward.

The back line was under pressure all day, and Daniel Ashby was excellent, once again taking many marks as the last line of defence. He was ably assisted by Emerson Saxon in the second half, but weight of numbers eventually won out. Despite not scoring a goal in the second half, the boys were at least competitive and restricted the St Stephen’s Duncraig to only 3 goals in

the second half. A special mention to Jack Fenwick for taking some excellent marks deep in the forward line and having a couple of shots on goal. Unfortunately, he was only able to kick one goal and our only goal for the day. He has tried hard all season, and it was his first goal for the team.

I would like thank all players for their efforts this term and to those players who have joined the team, despite not playing AFL before. Everyone is welcome to come and play.

Unfortunately, that was our last game for the term, and now we turn our attention to the Year 7 ACC Lightning Carnival at the start of Term 3. We will be training every Thursday for the rest of the term until 4pm.

PMACS 1 – 4 - 10 defeated by SSD 12 – 3 – 75

Thanks everyone for your support again this term. Team Coaches: Mr B. Boucher & Mrs. N. Jackson
