Discipline and Determination Doing the right thing coming to and leaving the school grounds

Congratulations to all our award winners at Wednesday’s Assembly of Appreciation. This included PRIDE Leaders, SRC, School Captains, Prefects, House Captains, Library Monitors, Music Award and Sporting Blues. This assembly celebrates our outstanding Student Leadership Program provided by our school. Congratulations to our staff who support all these programs and special thanks to Mrs Rouse and Mrs Buckley for their organisation and presentation of our special assembly. Good luck to our students attending the Schools Spectacular in Sydney this week and thankyou to Mrs Leslie Taylor for supervising. Congratulations to all our students wearing their full school uniform each day including the correct school hat. This shows great pride in our school. Please continue to enforce this at home over the next few weeks. New projectors are up and running. Mr Taylor’s class utilised the new screen this week to highlight some of the students’ excellent iPad work. Currently we are finalising our Management Program and working out classes for 2014. Students have been reminded about expectations and behaviour and only students with consistent positive behaviour will be attending class parties, Year 6 farewell etc.

Volunteers Luncheon To show appreciation for our canteen, P&C and craft group volunteers, a luncheon will be held on Wednesday 4th December at 11.45am in the Vere St Hall. For catering purposes please leave your name at either canteen or call Lyn on 6642 3388 by Monday 2nd December if you can attend. Silver Badge Morning Tea The Primary Campus Morning Tea will be held on Thursday 5th December and the Infants Campus Morning Tea will be held on Friday 6th December. Students involved will receive an invitation closer to the date. Presentation Day On Thursday 12th December our school will be holding our annual Presentation Day Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the SGHS hall. Students who are receiving awards will be informed shortly via special invitation. The ceremony begins at 9.30am and concludes at approximately 11.30am. All students Kindergarten-Year 6 will be attending the ceremony and will be bussed to and from the venue. All students whether receiving an award or not, should present in full school uniform, including black shoes and navy socks. School Banking If you have been saving with School banking this year and collecting your silver Dollarmites tokens, then now is the time to redeem them before the last banking day on 10th December 2013, as due to a system change, a maximum of 9 tokens can carry over to 2014. Once you have chosen the reward item(s) you would like to receive, complete the coupon on your rewards card and take it, along with your 10 tokens per reward, to school with your next School Banking deposit.

Titans Visit

Clarence Valley Interschool Equestrian Challenge Over the weekend of the 23rd and 24th November the Clarence Valley Interschool Equestrian Challenge was held at Hawthorne Park South Grafton, and at times in muddy conditions. Our school was well represented by Lachlan Rhodes, Hugh Shipman, Gracie Green, Kyra Broughton, Chelsea Hughes, Ashley Tibbett, Kailee Rose and Tahlia Jones. Amongst an estimated 240 students from various schools throughout the valley and beyond, our team of competent riders did their school and their team proud with all competitors receiving ribbons and prizes in their respective age groups, and showing true sportsmanship throughout the two day event. Well done.
