our policy:CUTTINGThe laser beam follows a vector path and cuts through material along a designated path.
ENGRAVINGThe laser beam follows a vector path engraving the surface of the material createing text, graphics or texture.
IMAGINGThe laser beam can engrave a pixelated image onto the surface of the material using variable intensity. This allows a grayscale image to be created.
A three day turnaround is required for all jobs.
There is a $10 minimum on all jobs.
You will be responsible for paying for all finished output. We are not responsible for any damaged or flawed output after it has been released.
All jobs must be paid for before release.
The eAccount allows you to pay at the Imaging Lab with your UArts ID card. You can add money online with a credit/debit card with no fees. For more information, please visit uarts.edu/printservices.
Cash payments are accepted in the Finance Office in Hamilton Hall. You must obtain a receipt from us before paying in Hamilton.
BRING YOUR OWN MATERIALSYou must schedule a one-on-one appointment with our technician to use your own material. We are not responsible for damage done to your material. We will not replace damaged material. Materials are cut at your own risk. We reserve the right to refuse unsuitable material brought in by clients. We are unable to cut through glass, metal, or material thicker than 1/4”.
No products containing PVC are allowed in the laser cutter, as they are highly toxic. If you cannot prove your plastic material is PVC free, we reserve the right to refuse your material.
TESTING FEE: $5We request a 5” x 5” sample of your material to determine the correct settings for cutting, engraving or imaging. Once the material has been tested and approved, you may submit the rest of your material for processing with the standard processing fees.
