The price of having a radio advertisement on air will change the reason for this is because there is no set price for the advertisements to be on air .The thing that mainly changes the price of a advert going on the air changes depending on how many listeners the radio station gets , the more listeners a radio show gets the more they are able to charge for the advert to go up .The price tends to go up the by £2 for every 1000 listens but this is not set .the time of the advert can also change the price if the advertisement is only played 10 seconds it will be a lot cheaper than if the advert was 30 seconds long .The time of day can effect it but this ties in with the amount of listeners this is because the most popular time of day will cost more this is usually mooring and drive time .This is the time when most people will be listening so this will be the time when it is more expensive. When picking a station for the advert to go on ,advertisement companies will choses a radio station that is aimed at the target audience of the advert so they know that more people that they aim to get shall be listening to it .For example if there is an advert about new trainers then they shall put it on a radio station like capital since it will be aimed at young people .When an advert is put onto the air it will stay there for 4 weeks this might stay on for a longer period of time the advertisement campaign is working well . This is an example of a radio rate card this is how much it will cost to have a radio advert played on the following radio stations a certain times.
