Świętokrzyskie is in the southern part of central Poland. The region consits of 14 districts and 31 cities. The capital of our voivodeship is Kielce.

Nature

A characteristic element of the voivodship are Świętokrzyskie Mountains. They are one of the oldest mountains in Poland. The highest peak is Łysica (612 m above sea level).

In the mountains there is situated Świętokrzyski National Park. It was created in 1950. In the park there is the 270-year-old fir tree that measures 51 m high.The symbol of the park is a deer.

Creamy cottage cheese is produces in Jędrzejów .The origins of its production was formed in February 1937. Creamy cottage cheese is made from milk. Cottage cheese cream is recommended for baking cheesecakes, making desserts and other dishes such as: pancakes or dumplings.

Kiełbasa swojska wąchocka hycowana Wąchock is a town on the River Kamienna. Its history is inextricably linked with the Cistercian Abbey.

The sausage is made of pork. There are also some spices added to it: fresh garlic and natural pepper. Very important is also the way of baking it. This recipe has been passed down from generation to generation.

Karp małyszyńskiMałyszyn Dolny is located in the northern part of Starachowice region. Carp is bred there, that is why people can easily get the fresh fish not only for Christmas.

Chleb bodzentyńskiBodzentyn bread recipe was developed before World War II by a local master baker Stanisław Kiernożycki while the founder of the bakery in 1937, he developed the technology and rye bread recipe for bread natural acid. Bread is baked out on a small scale, because most operations are carried out manually.

Easter

Easter is the Christian holiday. Every Easter Saturday people go to church with baskets filled with food e.g. eggs, bread, sausage or cakes. And on Sunday they eat all these things for breakfast. On Easter Monday according to tradition young people spill water over each other.
