Helping you to welcome change2014 promises to be a big year for education; the new curriculum arriving this September brings with it new challenges to schools across the country. On top of this, many of the challenges that lie ahead are yet to even be addressed. We recognise, therefore, that there has never been a more important time for all educators to have access to the advice and guidance they need to progress and help young people to achieve their potential.

2014 is also a big year for The Education Show, as we are taking a new approach to helping you tackle the challenges head on. A rich o ering of new content, inspiring training and development, and innovative educational suppliers will be available throughout the show. I look forward to sharing glimpses of these with you over the coming pages.

More than 120 free to attend, CPD accredited workshops, seminars, training sessions and discussion events will be led by practitioners, peers and industry experts on the show fl oor. This extensive programme will address issues at the core of the education debates today; how can we best prepare for the new curriculum? How can we ensure education technology makes a signifi cant impact on learning? How can we support the needs of all learners appropriately? Dedicated theatres on the show fl oor will provide the answers to these questions and many more.

Recognising the impetus on school leaders at this current time, the School Leaders Summit returns, featuring high-profi le experts from a selection of outstanding UK schools on hand to inspire, advise and network with one another. After a successful inaugural year, we are also pleased to welcome back the national PTA-UK conference, helping parent-teacher organisations to support education on an ongoing basis.

As ever, you will also benefi t from the knowledge and advice of more than 350 leading education suppliers who will showcase the latest teaching tools and most cost-e ective procurement schemes. From whole school solutions to best-value classroom resources, this is an opportunity unlike any other to evaluate and test products and services to establish which is best for you.

We are sure that a visit to The Education Show will leave you feeling supported and inspired, whatever your role and current challenges may be.

We look forward to welcoming you to the show!

Professor Brian Cox OBE

Arguably the UK’s best known physicist, Professor Brain Cox’s books and TV programmes have been read and watched around the world and credited with making science engaging and accessible to millions. Brian’s blockbuster TV shows include Wonders of the Universe, Wonders of the Solar System and Wonders of Life, each looking at the fundamental science behind everything from stars and planets to atoms and microbiology. From speaking at TED in the US to World Economic Forums in Davos and China, Brian’s presentations engage, inform and entertain, featuring awe-inspiring images from the depths of the universe, as well as his trademark infectious enthusiasm for his subject. We are delighted that Brian will be bringing this infectious enthusiasm to The Education Show!

Dara O Briain

Irish comedian and hugely popular host of the topical show ‘Mock the Week’ is well practiced at performing for record breaking audiences and has dabbled in subjects as diverse as driving lessons, baguettes and The Milky Bar Kid. His ‘Live at the Theatre Royal’ tour was a sell-out success across the UK and Ireland and his appearance in ‘Three Men in a Boat’ attracted four million viewers. As well as presenting ‘The Last Laugh’ for BBC3; the largest comedy script writing competition in history; Dara O Briain has recently hosted ‘Stargazing’ alongside Professor Brian Cox.

We are hugely excited that Dara’s next audience will be our visitors!
