PRESSURE WASHER
Many people now use these "power washers," to clean things by blasting them with water jets that have 100–200 times the pressure of the air.
They work great on patios, driveways, lawn furniture, barbecue grills, and all kinds of other outdoor dirt.
PARTS OF PRESSURE WASHER 01 Water Inlet A hose that connects the pressure washer to the
main water supply.
02 Electric Motor The motor or engine is designed to power the water pump.
03 Water Pump Pumps are designed to handle a water flow of around 4–8 liters (1–2 gallons) per minute.
04 High-Pressure Hose This is the tube that runs out from the washer to whatever cleaning attachment you've decided to use.
05 Cleaning attachment Powered attachments are driven by the force of the water flowing through them.
HOW PRESSURE WASHER WORKS?
Through another hose, cold water from a tap is filtered.
A motor-powered water pump (impeller) combines detergent and water. Most washers heat water to 125–155°F (50–70°C)
Pump squirts hot, soapy water through high-pressure exit hose (and whatever attachment is fixed onto it).
The attachments' thin nozzles boost water jet pressure. High-pressure jets clean more effectively and waste 80% less water than low-pressure hoses (which is more economical if your water is metered).
WHEN YOU NEED A PRESSURE WASHER?
Pressure washers can clean vast areas of caked-on dirt, grease, plant residue, etc.
Pressure-washing persons, animals, or plants can cause damage. Use waste bags or plastic covers to protect plant beds from pressure-washing spray.
Since pressure washers are used for larger or dirtier jobs, it doesn't make sense to use them on little areas, unless there's a stubborn stain. If it takes longer to set up the machine than to use it, consider hand-washing.
