Italmatch Chemicals has acquired phosphonate business Chinese Jiayou Chemical from Ecolabfor an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will enable Italmatch Chemicals to boost itspresence in the Asia-Pacific region with a new plant specialised in the production ofphosphonates. The addition of the new location complements the other facilities in NorthAmerica and Europe. Italmatch Chemicals Group CEO Sergio Iorio said: "After closing 2017with important acquisitions in North and Latin America, we are happy to begin 2018 with avery significant agreement for Italmatch Chemicals in Asia-Pacific. "Through this acquisition,Italmatch Chemicals achieves a global presence and a global market leadership inphosphonates, thanks to a new manufacturing presence in China.
