How can you find a way through the barrage of contradictory
scientific information that bombards us? This temporary exhibition
cuts a surprising path through the world of science. Visitors,
plunged into strange or familiar universes, are invited to step
into the shoes of a scientist in order to experiment and explore

« Les Savanturiers », a temporary exhibition labelled Of
National Interest (by the Ministry of Culture and Communication) at
the Toulouse Natural History Museum: 15th October 2015 – 30th June
2016.
The Muséum celebrates the 150th anniversary (1865–2015) of
discoveries and of explorers with « Les Savanturiers », which
presents the personalities who were responsible for supplying the
Muséum’s exhibits. Navigators on unexplored oceans, explorers in
unknown lands, enlightened collectors... these people have
assembled unique collections of objects, discovered on the other
side of the world or found in the surrounding areas, and which have
formed the basis of the Muséum. The second largest in France after
the Paris Natural History Museum, the Museum of Toulouse brings
together nearly 2.5 million objects curated over the years by some
of the leading scientific minds of centuries past... or simply by
well-informed anonymous enthusiasts.
+ Still at the Muséum: from October 2016, the new temporary
exhibition "Dogs and Cats" will rely on the latest discoveries made
by animal behaviour experts and will recap all the current
scientific, sociological and cultural thinking on our four-legged
friends so we can be less beastly ourselves! www.museum.toulouse.fr

Extended until 2018: Jorge Pardo at the Augustins Museum-
www.augustins.org The Toulouse International Art Festival (FIAT)
and the Les Augustins fine-art museum commissioned the artist Jorge
Pardo to undertake a work that sits at the crossroads of
architecture, art and design. This project has totally
metamorphosed the museums hall of columns, which is home to the
vestiges of capitals and to bas-reliefs from the XI and XII
Centuries drawn from the three most important religious
buildings in Toulouse: the basilicas of La Daurade and
Saint-Sernin, and Saint-Étienne Cathedral. It is an astonishing
encounter that blends the exuberance of a talented international
contemporary artist and the power of the art of Roman sculptors.

cultural venue for Toulouse. The Espace Cobalt is an 810m²
modular venue that can hold up to 700 people, dedicated to the art
of events, based at the site of the 50cinq in Toulouse. The 50Cinq

wasteland and was dedicated to aviation until 2014 (buildings used
until 1970 by the Latécoère company, then by Bréguet Aviation for
the construction of the Aéronefs, and then up until 2000 by the
company EMRI). It includes, apart from the Espace Cobalt, an
Artist’s Residence that brings together performers that focus on
street-art and urban cultures. http://espace-cobalt.com and

Did you know? - Artilect Fab Lab Toulouse… The FabLab Toulouse
was created in 2009 by the Artilect association. This is the first
FabLab to be created in France and the first to adopt the FabLab
MIT label in 2010. It provides a link to the international FabLab
network. A Fab Lab is a LABoratory for FABrication where everyone,
whatever their level of knowledge, can come and experiment, learn
and make all manner of objects for themselves (technical
prototypes, furniture, artistic or design objects, interactive
objects, etc.…). In order to do this, every member can come and
make use of the different machines at Fab Lab, learn from other
members or take part in different collective projects.

for ideas since 2011, La Cantine is first and foremost a venue for
exchanges, meetings and experimentation that is open to all those
who are curious or passionate about the digital world. The
plurality of profiles and backgrounds of its visitors make La
Cantine a space of intense intermingling. From those who spend an
entire day working there to those who choose to take a training
course for just a few hours, everyone comes together in the same
spirit that is both serious and convivial. Just enjoying a quick
coffee on the run here provides an opportunity to come face to face
with new digital trends on a daily basis.
