The South Sudan Investment Authority (SSIA) Board of Directors held its first meeting in Juba on Thursday 4th October 2012. The meeting was chaired by Hon. Kosti Manibe Ngai, who is also the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning. Prior to the board meeting, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning signed into law the Investment Promotion Regulations which are intended to operationalize the Investment Promotion Act, 2009. Mandate SSIA is the body mandated to promote domestic and foreign investments into South Sudan. Its objectives include: fast tracking licensing, facilitation and aftercare services to investors in, as well as identifying and mappng investment opportunities in South Sudan. SSIA is also tasked with dissemination of investor information both locally and internationally. This mandate extends to all the ten States of South Sudan, with whom the SSIA will work closely to ensure that the benefits of its activities extend to the state level.
