Long time no talk! I hope all of you enjoyed my July newsletter and will enjoy this one too! After our board meeting in mid-July, most of the T-O board kicked back and welcomed the 2011-2012 school year. Hello senior year! After August flew by, Fall Training Conference season started up in September. On September 17, I went to my home division's spy-themed FTC. I'm pictured to the right , reppin' the moustache and aviators like a cool kid. Besides meeting cool Key Clubbers from all over the Houston area and partaking in my Governor's Project, Operation Overwatch, with them, I got the chance to hear International Chairman of the Eliminate Project Randy DeLay speak and teach a forum. Mr. DeLay is a local Kiwanis member from right here in the Houston area! If you haven't already, I highly encourage you to visit the Eliminate Project website at www.theeliminateproject.com and find out how you, your Key Club and your local Kiwanis Club can help rid the world from maternal and neonatal tetanus. One of the things I love about Key Club is knowing that you're a part of something bigger. Don't forget that we're a huge international service organization and there are Key Clubbers just like you serving on a consistent basis in Taiwan! Don't forget the newly edited vision of Key Club International: "We are caring and competent servant leaders transforming communities world-wide." I wish you the best for the remainder of this service year, and for your future. Contact me if you need any Key Club related help. God bless!

In past Key Club years, Resource CDs have been mailed directly to your high schools. Due to postage costs, and the fact that many of these CDs were lost in the mail or returned back to the Texas-Oklahoma office, your local lieutenant governor has been entrusted with your Resource CD. It is crucial that you receive a 2011-2012 Resource CD either during a club visit from your lieutenant governor, a Presidential Council Meeting or your annual Fall Training Conference. Your Resource CD has materials which include, but are not limited to, Key Club basics, Advisor support tools, officer support tools, leadership development documents, service project and fundraising materials, sneak peeks on future Texas-Oklahoma District events, as well as information on other branches of the K-Family. If you do not receive your Resource CD from your respective lieutenant governor by October 22nd, please contact me at [email protected] soon as possible.

New updates coming soon from your lieutenant governor!

Our K-Family Board meeting will be the last weekend in October. Your lieutenant

governor will be meeting up with his/her Circle K and Kiwanis counterpart and discussing future plans. How’re your K-Family

relations?

An excerpt from the September T-O Today article by T-O Circle K Governor Donnesh Amrollah ([email protected]) This year with the District’s “One Family, One Legacy” intiative, will be all about making an impact, not only within our Kiwanis Family and our community, but within our organization for years to come. The legacy we create this year, by strengthening relations with the K-Family and the community, will be a long lasting testament to our ability. This year, by reaching out to our fellow Kiwanians and Key Clubbers, by investing in our Builder’s and Aktion Club members, by fostering service and character in our K-Kids, we will leave our organization with the ability to say we inevitably changed someone’s life.

Don’t forget about Governor Susan’s Project! Shoes for Orphan Souls S.O.S.- Sharing your Story-One Shoe at a Time

Annual Achievement Report

Each Key Club is required to complete and submit this report prior to DCON. The AAR can

often times be used a checklist for a Key Club! Often times clubs forget to invite guest speakers,

hold socials, interclub and do various other things that are outlined in the AAR. Look this

over and be sure to send it in April!

Unfortunately, our Kiwanis have still not found a new webmaster for the tokeyclub.com website. For updates, please like the T-O District on Facebook. Questions can be

asked on Facebook or emailed to a district board officer (staff member, lieutenant

governor, regional advisor). District Editor Kaitlyn Levett has created a Facebook page specifically for the Tex-O-Key. Check it out! If

you like the KCI Facebook page and comment on a status, there’s a possibility you

could show up in the next issue of the Key Club Magazine! Check out keyclub.org for

the latest and greatest International updates.
