Truman moved to Independence, Missouri in 1890, when he was six years old. He attended high school there, and graduated in three years. On June 28, 1919 Truman married Elizabeth (Bess) Truman they had one child, Margaret Truman. After high school Truman joined the military. In 1914 at the age of 30 he became a farmer when his dad died and left Harry his farm. This was Harry’s first job, but he never wanted to be a farmer.

Truman moved to Independence, Missouri in 1890, when he was six years old. He attended high school there, and graduated in three years.

The president before Harry Truman was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He took office in 1932, and was from Hyde Park New York.

On April 12, 1945 Harry Truman became president at age 61. he took office because president Roosevelt died during his presidency, and Harry Truman had been his vice president. He was ranked 5th best president.

Harry Truman, a democrat, ran for president in 1944 at the age of 60. He lived in Independence Missouri, and was Franklin D. Roosevelt’s vice president.

Around this time, the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. Truman ordered the dropping of an atomic bomb on Japan to end the war. The Japanese surrendered on Aug. 14, 1945.

Harry Truman’s vice president was Alben w. Barkley. Before going to the white house he lived in Kentucky. He became the 35th vice president in 1945.

After Dwight D. Eisenhower became president, Harry S. Truman left office in 1946 and retired in Independence Missouri. An interesting fact is that one of Harry S. Truman’s favorite hobbies is coin

The president after Harry Truman was Dwight D. Eisenhower. Eisenhower was from Dennison, Texas and he became a colonel in the U.S army. He was president from 1953-1961.

Truman was diagnosed with a lung infection and died on Dec. 26, 1972 at the age of 88. his wife died ten years later.
