President’s Message by: Gene Insley April has been a sad month for our PCC family with the passing of Jim DeCarlo and Lynn Peterson’s serious illness. Our fellow members are frequently on our minds for the company we share but never so much as when they and their families are in need of our thoughts and prayers. We’re thinking of you! Many events are on the near horizon and we are all looking forward to our usual high levels of participation. These events are a great way to meet new and existing members in a fun and relaxed way. If any questions exist on what is planned and how you can participate check the calendar on the web-site or let Ken James know if you need any direction. We all extend a special “welcome back” to Don and Karen Thompson (along with their new C7) and a hardy welcome to prospective members Dave Hennings, Steve Perry and Rick and Marcey Alpert. The members are here to help you get acquainted with our events so join in and enjoy. The C7.R Corvettes did well in Long Beach with 1 st and 3 rd place finishes. Hopefully the new cars major bugs have been exterminated and we’re on our way to victory at Laguna Seca in May. There’s nothing like squishing a few Porsches, BMW’s and Dodges. Are you interested in hosting an event for the club? Great! Here is what you need to do:
1) Upon making a decision to host an event please email me with the date of the proposed event to ensure there is no other club event already planned for that day or weekend.
2) Email me the details and any flyer, registration forms or website links to be added to the PCC Calendar.
3) Email a reminder to club members with meeting details/information one week prior to the event. (Note: On page 19 of the PCC Rules Book is a list of items that may help you get
organized. Also, keep in mind that the club has plenty of folks including myself who have
held events and are willing to assist you with your event…so relax & have fun doing it).
I will:
1) Announce your event at the monthly meeting. 2) Create signup sheets (and scan them after each meeting and send you a copy) 3) Send all your info to the PCC Webmaster for posting on the PCC Calendar. 4) Provide any assistance I can to you.
Don’t forget to use the “Events” tab at www.socalcarculture.com to find local car
events and the “Clubs” tab to check out other Corvette Clubs to see if they have

He may have set a record for the length of time as a prospective member. Congratulations for finally making it Jerry! Mark was reviewing the Roster recently and noticed that some photos are missing. If your photo has not been taken, please see Dave McCue. The point system was reviewed for the benefit of guests and prospective members. He encouraged guests to see him after the meeting, fill out the application and pay the $10.00 fee to get immediate access to all of our information and activities. Club Store: Judy Nunn had a large selection of items available on her rack. She also showed examples of other things that can be embroidered.
