I hope that everyone was able to enjoy family and friends this holiday season. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous New Year! Thank you to my fellow officers, the directors, the committee chairs and their co-chairs for the unwavering support and volunteerism over the past two years. I remain humbled having been President of this amazing organization. We accomplished many great things in 2015 as we did in 2014 and I’m confident MPPA will continue to thrive under the leadership of President Dangerfield. To my MPPA family, Thank you! Thank you! Thank You! I’ve had many proud moments as MPPA President, some of which would not have been reality but for your support and dedication. Your willingness to step up, volunteer and support your board and your chapter has made MPPA the great organization that it is. That said, of course, there is always room for more members to play an active role in MPPA. Consider volunteering during the 2016 NIGP Forum. It’s a great opportunity to get involved. I encourage each and every member to increase their involvement in MPPA during 2016. You will not regret it. In December, 2015, we challenged ourselves with rolling out a new initiative - MPPA’s Fall Training Day. You asked for it, you got it! It was well attended and the topics presented were thought provoking, enriching and much appreciated. Because, it is our core function to provide training efforts that increase procurement professionalism, MPPA provides and will continue to provide numerous opportunities for its members on an annual basis. Congratulations to MPPA’s President, Linda Dangerfield, Vice President, Mark Miller, and new Board Members, Tony Reed and Tina Wilson. I look forward to supporting you as well as all of our current board and committee chairs during the current year. Parting words of advice and encouragement – Do your best and forget about the rest! No one can expect anything more, once you’ve done your best. Enjoy the Ride!! I ask that everyone join me in welcoming in the 2016 Officers, Directors and Committee Chairpersons. The newly elected Officers and Directors will be installed at the Installation of Officers/Directors event on January 30, 2016 at the Observation Gallery at BWI Airport. I encourage everyone to take time out from their busy schedules to attend and support your 2016 Executive Board. I hope to see you there! T. Suzette Moore, CPPO, CPPB, C.M. A Word from Vice President Dangerfield
Happy New Year MPPA Family! I hope everyone was able to spend time with family and friends over the Holiday. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your 2014-15 Vice President. It has been a wonderful ride alongside Immediate Past President Moore, the Board, Chairs, Co-Chairs and members. Over the past two years we have created the Mentor-Mentee Program, volunteered at the Maryland Food Bank and Race for a Cure, hosted a reverse trade show, developed the Strategic Plan, offered free training classes, increased membership, and the list goes on. Not only did we “Aspire To Reach Greater Heights”, we grabbed on to them and kept reaching! Job well done everyone.
Normally, I would say goodbye and thank the members for all of the support you have shown the Association…this is not the case. Instead, I will say “Hello” as your 2016 President. What a great honor it is to serve as President for such a prestigious Association. I am deeply moved and thank you for the confidence and trust you have shown me!
We will continue to move upward on this long ladder called success. With the support of everyone, I know it will be another great productive year! Looking forward to the new challenges and rewarding outcomes. I hope you can join us at the 2016 MPPA Officer’s Installation Ceremony and membership meeting where I will share my vision for the association. The meeting will take place on Saturday, January 30th from 5:00 pm– 9:00 pm at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, Observation Gallery. As always, here to serve! Linda D. Dangerfield, CPPB 2014 and 2015 Vice President 2016 President
