The 2015-16 academic year results are out for CBSE Grade X Board exams, and Presidency Schools in

Bengaluru and Mangaluru continue their winning streak.

While PSBS and PSBE achieved the goals both in terms of school average over 9 CGPA (PSBS-9.47,

PSBE-9.39) and 35 % (PSBE) & 39% (PSBS) of students scoring perfect 10 CGPA. 12 students of PSMNG

and 2 students of PSBN have scored perfect 10 CGPA.

PSBN achieved a 100% result in the very first year of appearing for the board examinations!

Congratulations to the students and the teachers of all Presidency Schools on this incredible

achievement. Take a bow, everyone!

Through dance and poems, the children

displayed their talent, which also provided a

glimpse of what had been instilled in them

throughout the year. The young graduates

looked resplendent in their elegant attire of black

and white. After a thunderous applause from the

audience for a tremendous performance, the

Principal, Pushpy Dutt, thanked the parents on

Kindergarten Graduation Day Theme – “I’m a little Graduate!” - March 22nd, 2016

Students of Grade 1 and 2 made the year 2015-16 special and

memorable. The performances were designed and planned to

ensure that every child had an opportunity to perform on stage and

exhibit talents. The USP was the lucid compering by the students of

Grade 2; namely Tanish 2 C , Ananya, and Manas .The main focus of

the culmination event was a display of the co-scholastic talents

acquired through the year. Some of the performances included the

energetic wand drill, elegant ribbon dance, a fusion dance, a

rhythmic dumb bell drill, display of serene yoga, and the lively

pom-pom dance. The spectacular, culmination programme ended

with a Zumba performance by students, teachers and all assembled

as they voiced in unison “stay fit the Zumba way!”. The Principal,

Pushpy Dutt in her address congratulated the students, teachers

and parents for their tireless efforts to do their best and be the best.

Presidency School, Bangalore South (PSBS)

On the 12th of March, Presidency School Bangalore South

celebrated the UKG Graduation for the year 2015 -16. This was

one of the last mega events of this academic year.

The event was presided over by Tanveer Ahmed, the Chief

administrator of Mitra Academy, and Nafeesa Tanveer

Ahmed, Director of Presidency Group of Institutions.

The UKG children came class-wise in their graduation robes

and were felicitated with certificates, mementos and gems

garland by the Principal, J. Bhuvaneswari and the dignitaries.

Each UKG class presented a song and one student shared

his/her memories and experiences of Kindergarten days, while

thanking the Principal, COD Anuradha and all the KG teachers.

The highlight of the evening was the entire event that was

compered by students of Grade 1, including the welcome

address. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by a LKG student.

A video of all the activities of UKG students was compiled by

our Principal and shown to the audience, which was

thoroughly enjoyed by the parents who were busy seeing

their children on the screen.

The chief guest, Tanveer Ahmed, delivered an inspiring

speech on positive parenting. The event turned out to be a

grand success, thus bringing a glorious end to the chain of

activities for the academic year 2015 – 2016.

Upcoming events:

In the month of July, PSBS will be hosting an inter-school competition – Illuminance 2016, which

promises to bring out all the latent talent of the students as they compete with each other in

various competitions for the Illuminance trophy.

Kindergarten Culmination -(3rd - 18th March)

The academic year 2015-16 has come to an end.

All sections of the Kindergarten prepared a class

presentation on any of the topics learnt this

academic year be it LAR, Math EVS, Cand I or P

and S and were given different timings and

different days spread over two weeks. The parents

were invited to be part of their child’s learning

experience. The little ones impressed the audience

with their authority and absolute stage presence.

the session 2016-17 was held. The new

teachers were formally welcomed by the

Kindergarten Graduation (11th - 18th March)

Students sang the Graduation Day song with a lot of

enthusiasm. The little graduates looked impressive in

their gowns and caps. They stood confidently and sang

beautifully, doing their parents and teachers proud.

The Director/Principal G. Thangadurai gave away the

Graduation certificates after their teacher spoke about

each child with immense pride. The KG II children then

shared their ‘Joyous Experiences’ of the past two or

three years. Some of them even spoke about their

memorable journey with their teachers and friends in

kindergarten.

Teacher’s Outing

(12th April)

Teachers’ get together was organized at the

Ramanashree California Resort on 12th April. The

teachers enjoyed themselves by participating in water

sports, a variety of games, swimming pool, or the rain

dance. It was indeed a relaxing and refreshing day for

the teachers.

38 students accompanied by two faculty members of Presidency Schools and

Bhuvaneshwari, Director/Principal experienced the incredible legacy of the

British, in the ten days’ International tour organized for the students of

Presidency Group of schools to supplement the education offered in schools

through a variety of practical experiences that go beyond the classroom. The

tour offered every student, opportunities to train at centers of excellence,

visit historical and cultural landmarks and enjoy outdoor adventures.

Summer Camp (11th - 30th April)

Presidency School offered a variety of exciting

activities, carefully chosen to bring forth a complete,

holistic learning experience through the Summer

Camp organized for the students of Pre-KG to class 8.

The sessions were conducted by partnering with

professionals in the related fields - Ashmayu Wellness

(Yoga), Evam Performing Arts (Theatre), Lourd Vijay

Dance Studio (Dance), and Youth Football League

(Basketball)

Investiture ceremony (in-house event) -25th June

Leadership camp for elected Student Council members of the Presidency Group of Schools

(2nd July)

Presidency Challenge Cup (4th & 5th July) - Competitions planned include Wordsmith (spell

bee for classes 4 & 5), Elocution (prose & poem for Classes 6 & 7), Quiz (for classes 8-10), and

War of Words (Debate for classes 11 & 12 or PUC). An interesting array of prizes, viz. laptops,

i-pads, Tablets, e-books, etc. await the winners, and more than 100 schools are expected to

participate.

Inter Presidency Literary events (9th July) - Inter-Presidency competition in Elocution,

Debate, Spell bee and Quiz will be held.

Presidency School, Mangaluru (PSMNG)

Theme Culmination: ‘Blossom’ - (22nd March)

‘Blossom’ was the name given to the Theme Culmination Programme, conducted on 22nd March

for Grade 1 and 2 during the second term. The students of Grade 1 and 2 showcased their talents

through a variety of programs such as dramas, Group Songs, Role Plays, Story Telling and

speeches. One of the conspicuous performances by Grade 1 was the drama ‘Goldilocks and the

Three Bears’. It was astounding to see the First Graders showcasing their acting talents.

The Grade 1 also presented a marvelous ‘Time’ Role Play with posters on the ‘Importance of Time’.

They also sang melodious group songs on the theme ‘Politeness’ and ‘Martyrs Day’. Besides, there

was an engaging Puppet Show and Story Telling by Grade 1 and 2.

The Grade 2 students enacted the drama ‘The Quarrel of Colours’. The entire play was totally

engaging with the students’ amazing performance when each student, depicting one of the

colours of the Rainbow defended and argued over his/ her superiority. The other remarkable

performance of Grade 2 were the Role Plays on the Earth, the Moon and the Phases of the Moon,

which was followed by a mind-blowing and a melodious Earth song. The Grade 2 students also

recited poems in groups in Hindi and Kannada on ‘Ibn Batoota’ and ‘Naayi Mari’.

The final programme was by the students of Grade 2, who were dressed up as different states of

India. Each student spoke about the culture, cuisine and tourist attractions of the state. The

programme ended by a Vote of Thanks, and the Principal addressed the gathering.

Orientation Programme (Grade 10 - 2017 Batch)

For the first time, this programme was held on

11th April. The idea of the programme was to bring

about a one-on-one interaction with all staff,

students and parents involved at the onset of the

batch stepping into the final year (Grade 10).

Students and parents were familiarized about the

details and requirements of the CBSE Board and

expectations of the Presidency Group of

Institutions. This was presented through a PPT by

the Principal and Subject Teacher, and followed by

a Q & A session.

Further, the parents and students interacted with

the teachers individually and were also shown

samples of projects/assignments, etc. It concluded

with informal interactions of parents with the

Principal and Teachers over a ‘Special Tea’

arrangements.

Presidency School Nandini Layout was ranked No. 1 in the category

of ‘ICSE Schools’ in Bangalore and was ranked No. 7 in the category

of India’s top 20 ICSE schools. This India’s school merit awards 2015

was conducted by Education Today.

PSNLO won the prestigious ‘International School Award 2015-18’

awarded by the British council which is given for outstanding

development of the international dimension in the curriculum and

the integration of international learning in the school. Our school is

one among the top 10 schools selected throughout India by Youth

Service America to promote Road Safety in India and was allotted

Rs. 48500/- for the implementation of the project. Presidency

School, Nandini Layout conducted a flash mob by our school

children on road safety on Friday the 29th January, 2016 at the

Navarang circle, Modi Hospital road, Dr. Rajkumar road and at Orion

mall junction to emphasize the importance of road safety. Nearly 60

students from grade 5 to 9 participated in the flash mob to create

awareness regarding the importance of helmet, cautious driving and

following traffic rules.

Republic Day - The Band troop of PSNLO won the prestigious award

at the Republic day parade held at the Manekshaw parade ground

on 26th January, 2016 for the fourth time in a row. They were

appreciated by the Governor of Karnataka and the police officials.

Annual Day – The theme “Lights, Camera, Action” saw a mosaic of breath taking events comprising of

Orchestra, Theatre and dance recital which was appreciated by the parent community.

Valedictory –The chief Guest Dr. Dinesh, Co-founder of Infosys lauded the theme “The Extra Mile” for

it was very fitting as a message for the Grade10 Students. In Genious Quiz – The school won the City

finals in InGenious Quiz competition and are selected for National finals to be held in Mumbai on the

29th of February, 2016. This is the youngest team among the city finalists.

Theme Culmination – The various themes from Pre-KG to Grade 5 like Khel ka Khiladi, Toon World,

Cavalcade, Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, Utsav, Dreams and Around the World were exhibited with great

fun and folic.

Presidency School, R T Nagar (PSRTN)

Theme Culmination of Grade 1 was held on 25th and 26th of February 2016 in the school premises.

The theme was Incredible India which brought out the essence of cultural diversity and rich

heritage of our country. The programme began with the invocation dance. There were many

colorful performances and songs on patriotism and on save Earth.

Children performed a skit on Save Trees, where many children dressed up as animals like Elephant,

Giraffe, Tiger, Lion, Rabbit, Squirrel, Dove, Parrot, Peacock and so on. Children spread the message

of not harming any trees and took an oath on saving the trees. Children gave brief information on

all our National symbols through a style act. Children performed a musical drama “Onake Obavva”

a woman who fought against the forces of Hyder Ali single handedly. The performance of the

children moved everyone to tears. Children also performed energetic dances on different festivals

of India like Eid, Diwali and Christmas. The finale dance of the Theme Culmination was colorful

and breath-taking performance and the concept of Unity in Diversity, was showcased. The elegant

and magnificent performance by the students mesmerized the audience.

uzz Theme Culmination - 23rd & 24th - Grade 2 - Five Elements

The parents were enthralled to see their wards performing in

their colourful costumes depicting the five elements. The

show began in a spectacular way, with a prayer ceremony

followed by the introduction of the element ‘water with a

dance’. The choir also encouraged everyone to save the

planet earth. The Earth Song and Dance touched every one’s

heart and children made the session very educative. Next the

element Air followed with a graceful dance performance. The

last element was Space followed by planet dance. At the end

of the show, all the five elements came together to form a

beautiful rainbow.

Theme Culmination- 19th & 22nd of February, 2016 - Grade 3-Magnificent Mughals

The scene was Akbar’s court where Emperor Akbar

introduces the nine gems to the Queen Jodha Bai. The court

also experiences the quick wittedness of Birbal through a

skit. They witness a lot of entertainment in the form of Sufi

Dance, Qawwali and Arabian Dance.

Theme Culmination - Grade 4

‘The Mighty Brahmaputra’

Children learnt about ‘The Mighty Brahmaputra’ river through

the play staged for the ‘Theme culmination’. They learnt

about its origin and the course it takes before emptying into

the Bay of Bengal. They also dealt with the culture, tradition

and languages of Tibet, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and

Bangladesh. Tsangpo, Siang, Dihang and Meghna are now

everyday familiar words for them. Theme Culmination on the

topic ‘The Mighty Brahmaputra was done by Grade 4

students. The origin and its journey through three countries

till it merges with the Bay of Bengal was enacted beautifully.

The choir rendered lovely music which added to the charm.

Presidency College, Hebbal (PCH)

Presidency College held a valedictory for the graduating students of

the 2013 – 16 batch on Thursday 7th April 2016 at the verdant lawns

of the Presidency School, Bangalore North. Dr. K. N. Ninge Gowda –

Registrar (Evaluation) of Bangalore University was the Chief Guest

and Ramlal Waghray – Senior VP, Aries Global Software was the

Guest of Honour. The event commenced with the lighting of lamp,

followed by welcome speech by Dr. Prof. Muddu Vinay – Director &

Principal of the College. The dignitaries addressed the students and

exhorted them to make the best use of the education for not only

their personal benefit, but for the society in general. Thereafter,

select students and parents shared their thoughts on their

association with Presidency College. It was a nostalgic moment for

all. This was followed by distribution of awards to the students who

have excelled in various fields. Faculty who have achieved 100%

results were also honoured with mementoes. Dr. Prof. Muddu Vinay

– Director & Principal, also administered the oath of conduct to all

the graduating students. The college Choir enthralled the audience

with meaningful and melodious songs.

Zest – Food Fiesta – 9th March, 2016

PG Department of the College had organized a

traditional-day-cum-food fiesta called “Zest” on

9th March at the College premises. The students

had prepared cuisine of various regions and were

also dressed in traditional attires of the region. It

was fun and frolic all the way with foodies vying

to taste the delicacies. Awards were given to the

best teams.

Immortals – PG Management Fest - 29th and 30th March.

PG Department had organized their maiden

intercollegiate management fest - Immortals

on 29th and 30th March. Over 15 teams from

top colleges had participated in the two-day

event. There was fierce competition among

the teams to prove they are the best and in

the end, RV College emerged as the overall

winners.

Building the infrastructure and facilities in the

Presidency University campus continues to

progress at a brisk pace. However, the

highlight of the first quarter of 2016 was the

successful hosting of the 32nd All India Inter

University Moot Court Competition by the

less than one-year old Presidency University.

The Presidency University School of Law with

active association and guidance of the Bar

Council of India hosted the National Moot

Court Competition (March 5 – 7, 2016) for

University/Collegiate Law Students, attending

regular courses in recognized law schools. The

three-day event saw the active participation

of 36 universities from all over the country.

The Moot Court enables students to acquire

knowledge, learn unique skills and persuasive

power in focus, deliberate the trial cases and

elaborate their arguments to overcome those

presented by the opposing teams.

uzz The Inaugural function witnessed the presence

of phenomenal luminaries in the domain of

Law, such as Shri Abarao Deshmukh, Vice-

Chairman, Bar Council of India, Shri Vijay Bhatt,

Managing Trustee, Bar Council of India Trust,

Shri Rajinder Singh Rana, Associate Managing

Trustee, among others, while the distinguished

Honourable Justice V. Gopala Gowda, adorned

the occasion as the Chief Guest and Shri Manan

Kumar Mishra, Honourable chairman, Bar

Council of India, obliged as the Guest of

Honour.

The valedictory function was presided over by

the Chief Guest Hon’ble Justice R.K. Agarwal –

Judge, Supreme Court of India.

Nirma University, Gujarat bagged the first prize,

while S.P. College of Law, Godwana University,

and Maharashtra emerged as the second and

third place winners. The best student advocate –

male and female - was awarded to Akshay Dixit,

Nirma University and Haritha P P, Kannur

University.
