Safe Patient Lifting In-room Transfer System
(S.P.L.I.T.S.)
• Roll patient and insert bottom and back pads
• Attach lift straps to monorail trolley
• Use the control pendent to raise back pad to sitting position
• Raise entire patient off bed (3” to 6”)
• Move patient on powered monorail to wheelchair / gurney area, toilet, or shower.
• Set patient down and disconnect monorail trolley straps

In-room Transfers: • Insert bottom and back pads on patient while in bed position with simple roll over and place method
• Raise back pad to sitting position for patient comfort during move
• Safely move patient off of bed to set in wheelchair / gurney for standard transportation
• Move patient on monorail in sitting position to bathroom are and maneuver for easy toilet, or shower access and use.
• Return patient via monorail to bed position and remove the pads.

The S.P.L.I.T.S. program offers a more functional way of moving patients that reduces potential injuries yet is very flexible for health care operations.
The S.P.L.I.T.S. components are simple and basic systems that are used everyday, but when combined for patient care creates a new, better, & safer technological way of moving patients.
An entire facility can be made S.P.L.I.T.S. enabled simply and economically by adding monorail ceiling track, installing trolleys, and implementing the bottom and back pads.
