Discover on TaLe

Myth 1:TaLe is not a repository (distributed search)

Myth 2: CLI managed collections (TaLe search is agnostic)

Myth 3: All resources need DET metadata (LRM)

Exchange on TaLe

Shared resources, quality resources?

The quality of most resources discovered through TaLe derives from the authority of the producing body, CLI, TAFE Online Library, Curriculum Centres, etc

TaLe is also a place to share resources developed by non-specialists, at grass-roots, while maintaining reputation for reliability of resources discovered through TaLe.

Resource Sharing Communities

A Resource Sharing Community can be:

■ a trusted group of known participants

■ or open to all of TAFE and DET staff

■ or changed from the first to the second at the Community’s choosing.

Any participating teacher can:

■ upload a resource

■ receive feedback in a discussion

■ obtain support for the quality of a resource from peers

Communicate on TaLe

Professional Learning Communities

■ Professional Learning Communities have a “Learning Goal”

■ A PLC discussion is presented in a supportive context, a home area for orientation, and the Key Readings and Additional resources pages.

■ Moderators manage all their own content and members.

■ Login is via the DET Portal and TaLe, with no further registration or login required from DET staff.

■ External guests can easily be registered.
