Be a part of the STEM Hub because…

STEM Hub will MAXIMIZE our resources and increase our impact

REDUCE redundancy. For example, have 1 large science fair instead of 20 smaller scale fairs

Truly acting as a hub to help COORDINATEactivities and connect businesses to students

Creating a COLLABORATIVE community

Lack of STEM Career Awareness• Students, Parents, Teachers, Administrators

K-12 STEM Outreach• Emphasis on Awareness and Inspiring Students

Earlier “Employee” Engagement• Internships, Co-Ops, Shadowing

Work Rotation Programs

The primary aim of education is not to enable students to do well in school, but to help them do well in the lives they lead outside of school. (CTE Technical Assistance

High numbers of CTE students (85%) plan to pursue post-secondary education, and CTE students have a significantly greater high school graduation rate (90%) than the national average (75%). (Association for Career and Technical Education, research conducted by NRCCUA 2013)

80% of students taking a college preparatory academic curriculum with rigorous CTE met college and career readiness goals, compared to only 63% of students taking the same academic core who did not experience rigorous CTE. (Southern Regional Education Board, High Schools That Work 2012 Assessment)

Students attending CTE high schools have demonstrated higher rates of on-time graduation and credit accumulation and a greater likelihood of successfully finishing a college preparatory mathematics sequence. (Neild et al., The Academic Impacts of Career and Technical Schools: A Case Study of a Large Urban School District, 2013)
