Some Challenges MSMEs face

• High energy costs due to high energy consumption patterns and inefficient energy use.

• Un-competitiveness as a result of these energy costs.

• Lack of information tailored to assist MSMEs in reducing energy consumption

• Lack of access to environmentally friendly or renewable technologies.

• Limited capacity to access financing from financial institutions for implementation of renewable energy and energy efficiency and conservation projects.

Many of the findings of EU study concur with the following

• SRC & CARIRI prepared a JOINT PROPOSAL in response to a World Bank call

to host the regional Centre. The Joint team was awarded

o Responsible for overall coordination – based in Jamaica o Focus on Northern Caribbean Countries.

• CARIRI o Responsible for financial management - based Trinidad & Tobago o Focus on Southern Caribbean Countries
