Camera angles: prelim task

In these slides I will demonstrate the meaning portrayed by different camera

shots in our preliminary task shoot.

Page 2: Presentation1

Wide shot

In the first shot, we used a wide shot to show that she is by herself in the room, and no one else could possibly hear or see anything happening.

Page 3: Presentation1

Over the shoulder

This shot is used to depict the fact that someone else has entered the room to confront her, he appears bigger than her in the shot, which creates a sense that he could possibly be dictating her.

Shot reverse shot

This shot, which involves the camera flicking back to looking at her, creates the illusion of conversation between herself and the newly entered character.

Back to wide shot

This goes back to the original ‘wide shot’ and allows us to see calum leaving the scene with his back to Daria, this suggests the scene is ending.

Things to improve

If we were going to shoot another similar scene, we would attempt to make it last a little longer, as it was fairly short and perhaps lost some of its effectiveness because of this.
