Contents page: Research & analysis
Anchorage – page numbers juxtaposed to the graphic features so that the audience relate the two and know where to find each story.
Header informing reader that is the contents page – following the conventions of a magazine
Main image is larger than the rest of them – Most important story (usually would have been of someone/something recognisable/ relating to the cover)
The typography of the headline is different (larger and it bold) to description – Audience attention drawn to the headlines.
All of the text boxes are evenly spread out and all the pages content is in line (including the images.) This gives it a sophisticated appearance
Alternative layout (slanted headings and pictures) make it more pleasing to read and give it an appealing look.
Strict colour scheme (black contrasted with whites/yellows) fit the theme of the images – and presumably the magazine – of cities.
More important stories are headed and contain more information on them too – greater importance
Graphic features juxtaposed to the headings inform the reader that they are related
Although the layout is slightly diverse the headings and features are still specifically lined and spaced equally apart to give it a mature/smart/proffessional look.
