A traditional philosophy of learning embraces the branches of philosophy that include Idealism, Realism and Neo-Thomism.


Idealism reflects universal order embodied in a rational truth around a belief in an eternal Being. So, learning should stress ideas of the past through subjects such as history (His-Story), language, logic, and literature.


Realism relates to the examination of the physical world by experience and scientific investigation; that which is good is governed by moral and natural laws; and, that the person can understand by sensing in an orderly, rational manner.
