THE AUTHOR
SUMMARYOne day the author was passing through the outskirts of verona
then he saw two poor boys were selling strawberries the author
wants to buy the strawberries but his driver stopped him to buy the strawberries form them. Because
they had wore very shabby clothes and untidely dressed. The two boys
are the brothers named nicola at the age about 13 and jacopo at the
age about12.
Next morning he saw the boys working as the shoeshine boys. The boys helped the author in many ways like they told the author about the good restaurants book the seats in opera for the author and etc. They do many things as
they told to author because they have a spirit to work.
One night they are waiting for the last bus from padua to sell the
news papers.The author asked them
that what are you waiting for? They
answered that we are waiting for the last bus from the padua to sell
newspapers.
THE NEXT MORNING, AUTHOR ASKED THE BOYS THAT YOU MUST EARN QUITE A BIT BUT DO NOT SPEND ON YOUR CLOTHES MEALS SO WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THAT MONEY? THEY REPLIED WITH TURNING THEIR FACES DOWN THAT WE HAVE OTHER PLANS. WHAT PLANS? ASKED AUTHOR, JUST PLANS SIR HE REPLIED IN A LOW VOICE.
The author told them that we are leaving on Monday is there any
thing we can do for you before leave .
Jacopo said that “every Sunday we make a visit
to the country, to poleta, 30 km from
here.
Usually we hire bicycles. But tomorrow, since you are so kind, you
might send us in your car.”Nicola said we do not want to
troubling sir.It won’t be any trouble.
ON SUNDAY THEY ARE GOING TO POLETA
We will come back only after an hour sir. may be you did like to go to the café in the
village for the drink? They disappearBeyond the corner of the wall.
Then the author asked the nurse.she take him to the front of the room in which the sister of of the boys were admitted and told him to peek inside the room from the window and he saw the boys.
Then from the nurse he get to know that their
sister got seriously injured during the war of partition and from
then the boys are only paying the whole
payment for her sister. They only earn for her.
Then the writer did not tell the boys that he knew about their sister. Because he thought that
they will prefer to keep their secret from any stranger.
The end of the story. At last the author says that
their devotion had touched me deeply.
because it is a kind story I also liked it
