What People have to say about Kushal…

“Usually you see in this country associations and

people complaining all the time. Here we have an

organization which stopped complaining and

started doing things by themselves, finding

solutions by themselves- this is what the country

needs.

…..and to the workers, I can tell you that you

should make use of this opportunity because this

is probably the first of its kind in India.”

Mr. Shibu Baby John,Labour Minister of Kerala

Page 17: Presentation on Kushal May 2012

What People have to say about Kushal…

“Kushal certification will go a long way in ensuring

two things: one, increase in the wages of the

become beneficial to all industry verticals in terms

of getting access to a large pool of skilled

workforce which as of now is in great shortage”

Satish Magar- President, CREDAI Maharashtra & Pune

Page 19: Presentation on Kushal May 2012

Kushal: Challenges

Construction workers are migratory, hence ensuring their continuation on the site for at least 8

weeks

Construction workers are low on educational endowment, hence training content needs to be

illustrative

On-the-site training has an in-built casualty on classroom training in terms of time availability

due to demands of site-work

Availability of suitable trainers for the kind of training that Kushal provides

Page 66: Presentation on Kushal May 2012

Kushal: Way Forward

Scaling up Kushal program Pan India

Venturing into other construction trades such as training of supervisors, electricians,

fabricators, system formwork, etc.

Making it self-sustainable

Continuous quality improvement
