Where can we use this?We can use this type of pump: Near the rivers Near the channels. In the hilly areas Springs(If the flow is good enough to

give initial velocity).

What it does? It increases the velocity of flow by 10

to 15 times that of initial. This pump increases the flow velocity

by simple expansion and compression of air.

The important point is that “It works without any consumption of electricity”.

Really!! How?????

Working Water enters the pump with some

initial velocity. Water is filled both in overflow pipe and

outflow pump After that the valve at the overflow

closes due to flow of water. And due to increase in pressure the

valve at outflow opens.

The water enters into the air tube and the outlet tube.

After sometime, the air compressed due to the entry of water will try to expand and tries to send some water back to the inlet pipe.

But the valve used is one way , it won’t allow the flow in that direction and continues to flow towards the outlet with some increase in velocity.

Thus we can send the water to certain height without using electricity.

Advantages No electricity required. Easy to install. Simple working. Can utilize water from rivers or canals

or other channels to send the water to overhead tanks easily.

Disadvantages Wastage of water from overflow pipe. Cannot be helpful in pumping stagnant

water.
