    Outside Pressures on a Mandatory

    Vaccine policy for all HCW

Department of Public Health officials are compiling theirown report on flu vaccinations among hospital workers inthe wake of a critical probe by the consumer advocacygroup.

The American Academy of Pediatricsaffirmed the importance of health workers getting suchvaccines, saying they should be mandatory for doctors, nurses and other health workers. They called such astep part of workers' "ethical and professional obligations

to act in the best interests of the health of their patients."
