Coffee and its byproducts, a sector with an international recognition
Colombia is the world’s largest soft coffee producer
(mountain crops), with a great variety of special coffee
beans.
100% of the national coffee is Arabic, which is healthier
because of its bitterness, softness, better infusion, intense
aroma and less concentrate of coffee.
Coffee supply is represented by;
special organic coffee beans, soluble, freeze-dried, toast
and ground coffee , extracts and coffee aromas.

Colombian flowers have been exported to more than 77 markets
Colombian flower crops have high quality standards that
ensure the best sizes, colors and durability for the final
consumer. Colombia has the world’s largest variety of
exotic flowers for export, which allows it to always be s at
the forefront of consumer trends.
It is a sector with a high social impact, generating more
than 130,000 direct and indirect jobs in 60 Colombian
municipalities and linking about 25% of the country's
formal female rural workforce. It also involves
environmental sustainable programs.
Colombia has a wide variety of flowers including roses,
carnations, alstroemerias, chrysanthemums, gerberas,
pompones, hydrangeas, anturios, heliconias and foliage,
among others.

Colombia has identified 433 native species of edible fruit
Colombia is the country with the most diverse environment in the
world, a place where you can see more fruits on a square
kilometer than in any other place on earth.
According to FAO, Colombia uses 10.9% of its total land for
harvesting purposes, it is the third Latin American country with the
highest number of hectares planted with fruits. It is also the third
largest producer of the region, producing 9.5 million tons per
year, and has one the most suitable conditions to expand its
production in agriculture products.
Colombian supply is composed of a great variety of both
tropical and exotic fruits. This includes exotic fruits such as
gooseberry, gulupa, granadilla, passion fruit, yellow dragon fruit,
tree tomato, and avocado hass. It also owns a big range of
tropical fruits like pineapple, papaya, mango, TAHITI lemon,
among others.
Colombia has organic production of gooseberries, bananas,
avocado, passion fruit, among others.

Colombia’s offer of processed fruits and vegetables includes pulps,
freeze-dried and dehydrated fruits, among other products
Due to the great variety of fruits in Colombia, companies
have been able to develop a wide range of products of
processed fruits and vegetables with greater added
value, destined to the food industry or to the final
consumer. This offer includes pulps, concentrates,
dehydrated fruits, lyophilized, canned and frozen fruits.
The national offer has certified its products with HACCP,
ISO and GLOBAL GAP standards, among others.
Within the companies of the sector innovation initiatives
you can find pasteurized fruit pulps that do not need
refrigeration, dehydrated fruits 100% natural and organic
processed products.

Palm oil, an international renowned production
Colombia is the main producer of palm oil in Latin
America and the fifth largest producer in the world with
more than 350,000 hectares and 1,200,000 tons produced.
The departments of Meta and Santander are the main
producers of palm oil, producing around 360,000 tons and
208,000 tons respectively.
Colombia’s palm oil is known for its quality, a result of a
socially and environmentally responsible work.
Competitive factors, including thigh antioxidant vitamin
content, resistance to oxidation at high temperatures, and
being naturally cholesterol and acid free, makes palm oil
an attractive product as a raw material in the food
industry.

The Colombian confectionery sector has constantly
striven to differentiate to access to more exclusive markets
with a greater purchasing power, allowing products in the
industry to come not only to Latin America but also to
European, Africans and Asians countries.
It is a mature industry with constant and diversified export
experience, and with high responsiveness to new
opportunities.
It is a recognized sector for its high quality and innovation
in products, packaging designs and marketing strategies.
The offer includes products such as chocolates, hard and
soft candy, gum, candies and candy pills that have been
the leading export products.

Cocoa and its byproducts, a world-class sector in the international
market
The Colombian cocoa sector has regained its importance
in the area and production in recent years, and it’s known
for having a light and excellent aroma.
Colombia has optimal agro-ecological conditions and
excellent genetic materials for the production of cocoa,
which is a product with constant growth that offers an
attractive flavor and aroma for the international markets.
The country is among the world's leading cocoa producers,
accounting for about 1% of world production.
Colombia also offers intermediate products such as cocoa
paste or liquor, butter or cocoa oil and cocoa powder,
highly demanded by the food and cosmetics industries
worldwide.

The bakery and milling industry in Colombia is flexible and adjusts itself to trends and different demands of the international market
The Colombian bakery and milling industry has grown steadily
in recent years, showing a higher level of professionalism,
thanks to companies’ investment in technology, by improving
quality control process of raw materials, manufacturing
processes, formulation improvements and a suitable and
attractive consumer display.
The category with the highest bid is both sweet and salty
biscuits. Within the range there are sophisticated products,
from sandwich biscuits created for children with fruit flavors, to
even low-calorie grain cookies with functional properties.
There are also products such as pre-cooked corn, wheat,
banana and cassava flour with excellent quality and very
competitive prices in international markets. Companies have
also developed frozen products and pre-cooked frozen
bakery.

Colombia has the supply and infrastructure needed to meet the
international demand of the aquaculture and fisheries sector
In Colombia, mainly tilapia (red), cachama and trout are
cultivated. The fishery sector stands out for its export
potential and technological development, which today
has an exportable supply of trout and tilapia fillets, as well
as refrigerated or frozen trout and fishes.
In addition, producers have implemented management
systems such as Global Gap, ISO, HACCP, and BASC,
among others to improve the quality of different products,
ensure their safety, develop CSR programs, and meet the
requirements of the international market.

Latin America, having quintessential beef breeds
such as Cebu and the Colombian Brahmin,
known for having one of the highest quality
genetics in the world.
Colombia’s high health status has allowed
Colombian beef to reach demanding markets

The national production of the poultry sector has registered a constant growth over the last five years
Colombian chicken is recognized for its freshness
and quality, which is why multinational chains
use it. The chicken used by these restaurant
chains come from poultry farms that meet health
and safety requirements.
Colombian farms have the necessary

Some Colombian dairy products in 2015 were exported for the first time to Costa Rica and Curacao
Colombia is the fourth largest dairy producer in
Latin America with approximately 6.4 billion liters
annually, only surpassed by Brazil, Mexico and
Argentina.
The milk produced in Colombia contains
percentages of protein and fat which are greater than the most important producers worldwide,
such as New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland,
Canada and the United States.
Colombia ranks 15th in the total number of dairy
producers. The Colombian dairy offer is
represented in powdered milk, flavored milk,
mature and fresh cheeses, yogurt, condensed
milk and arequipe.

the signed commercial agreements have made Colombia
a production and distribution center for South America,
North America, with a view to meeting the demand of
Europe and Africa in the long term.
The sector counts with a relevant number of producers in
the different productive links of the sector, including wiring,

assemblers, allowing the industry to count with
experience in the manufacture of vehicles with different
ranges and sizes.
The production of auto parts has doubled in the last ten years. The majority of the national production
corresponds to the parts and not classified accessories for
speed boxes, wheels for automobiles and axles or trains of

Shapewear, an internationally renowned industry
The sector includes garments that have added value, such
as: bands for posture correction, abdominal bands to raise
body temperature and textiles with special properties.
There are a variety of designs tailored to the needs of the
client, whether for molding hips, abdomen, waist, legs,
buttocks or bust, with products such as bodies, T-shirts, bras,
bras, cyclists, among others.
The sector uses soft materials and a diversity of inputs. Use of
materials such as seaweed or caffeine to lose weight,
including milk and oats to nourish the skin, for example.

Underwear is one of Colombia’s main export products and is recognized in highly demanding markets
Colombia offers high value-added brands with innovative
proposals for various segments. There are brands for the high
segment with sexy, functional and comfortable approaches.
At the same time, there are brands for the younger
population, for pregnant women, or for a conservative
audience.
There are variety of designs adapted to customer needs: brassieres are developed with great cups and excellent
support, underpants with control features in the abdomen
and pieces with delicate materials that show the natural
shape of the body.

Colombia offers fitness and urban sportswear, with specialties in different sports and exercises
The product portfolio includes specialized sports
garments, for: yoga, fitness, cycling, hiking, soccer, among others.
Garments include T-shirts, tops, leggings, capris, shorts,
skirts, jackets, sweatshirts, polo shirts and others.
The materials used are fabrics such as polyester, suplex, spandex, microfibers, cotton, among others, with
different finishes and features such as moisture transport, anti-bacterial, sun protection, repellent and waterproof,
thermal fabrics, with intelligent microfibers that absorb
sweat, elastic fibers that provide more comfort and
freedom of movement (two-way stretch, four-way
stretch), among many others.

sports uniforms, as well as specialized added-value products such as
military and industrial uniforms
Products are developed according to the special needs of
the industry in terms of designs and materials that provide
resistance and durability to the product.
Clothing in the uniform sector include added-values in the
design and preparation , as well as use intelligent materials such as: fabrics with UV properties, impermeable, anti- fluid,
with humidity control or "anti-mosquitoes, antibacterial,

The sector offers diversity in supply from a high production
capacity that allows buyers to access a wide range of products
in one place.
Value-added products such as woven dresses and hand
embroidery, for example, demonstrate the variety and versatility

Jewelry, an industry characterized by tradition and diversity
The Colombian offer ranges from unique pieces to large-
scale production, worked with gold, silver, emeralds,
precious stones, and semiprecious stones and seeds among
other native materials.
We work with ancestral techniques such as filigree, inspired
by both pre-Columbian art and classics. Handmade
products are offered with an emphasis on the quality of
details.
Art pieces are made by craftsmen and designers, which gives the sector differentiation and exclusivity. The
workforce has a long history that fuses traditional methods
with the current production processes.

The Colombian Jewelry sector has presented a growth of more than
USD$3 million over the last 5 years.
Last year, exports of the sector registered a total of USD$28.4 million, a growth of 2.6% compared to that of the previous year. The major exported product were other jewelry
items made of imitation gold or base metal.
