About Mahindra Glyd

HashedIn along with Mahindra Glyd co-created the Glyd experience where they wanted to

replicate the experience similar to that of an airline application. The solution designed had a

two-pronged approach which was to develop a Mobile app and a Tablet app to make the

experience smart, seamless, and productive.

Smart and Seamless: These features identify the customer while boarding, and welcomes them.

It also facilitate resuming of customer’s previous activity. The entertainment (Tablet) app is

loaded with plenty of curated content in the form of video, audio, music, e-books, articles, etc.

During the ride, the entertainment app allows the user to book the next ride without asking for

any customer details.

Productive: This feature helps the executives be productive on the go through experience app

without the hassle of holding their laptops, notepads or mobile phones during the ride. The

experience app has Zoom meeting, Cisco web conferencing and Hangout applications installed

by default. This allows business executives comfortably attend meetings and also take call notes

at the same time.

Technical Highlights

1. Proposed features for leveraging AWS are

a. CloudTrial for governing and auditing of the AWS environment

b. Elastic BeanStalk to have single source of truth-manipulation for various

components and S3 for static website hosting

c. Use Elasticache for providing seamless user activity retrieval/resuming of last

viewed content

d. Storing of transactional data in RDS (PostgreSql) with read replica for high

availability

2. Established CI-CD pipeline with Travis CI to make the done to deploy process faster

3. Deployment of New Relic and CloudWatch for the infrastructure usage monitoring

Problem statementGlyd was entering the ride sharing ecosystem which already had numerous players operating in the

Indian market. They wanted an USP to help differentiate themselves from the existing players. Glyd’s

target market was business executives who commute between their home and office. Glyd wanted to

prove that their premium e-mobility service was smart, seamless and productive to their target audience.
