Variable simply means that each piece can vary by adding personalization of a first name, changing the graphics from one piece to the next, and valuable information like printing the location of a store nearest you. Everything prints together eliminating plate changes that traditional web press would require. 2009 remains a memorable year for Cristabel. She became a sponsored child and says this made her start to love learning English at school because she wanted to communicate better with her sponsor. She enjoys drawing for her sponsor and feels very happy when her sponsor writes her.
Cristabel says she faces a number of challenges, but still works hard to achieve her goal. At times she doesn’t have school materials, but her mother tries her best. challenges, but still works hard to achieve her goal. Dear Valued Donor,
Muli bwanji? - Hello! How are you?My name is Paul Barker and it is my honor to be the Country Director for Save the Children in Afghanistan. I have been with Save the Children in Afghanistan since early 2012, although I earlier worked here for 8.5 years and first traveled to this land in 1972. There is something special about the people, literature, history and culture of this country that seems to keep calling me back.
I have lived in different countries in Central Asia, East Asia and the Middle East for 36 years. Our three children are now grown, and I live in Kabul with my wife, Nora.
The Country Director position in a country like Afghanistan comes with its share of problems and headaches, but also with outstanding rewards. It is exciting to be part of an organization that does so much for children in 16 different provinces of this beautiful, yet troubled country.
The child sponsorship program here provides vital resources for innovative, cross-cutting programming for the benefit of children. Our office has responded to floods and winter emergencies and is geared up for contingencies including earthquakes and population displacements. We do innovative work in early childhood development, promotion of violence-free schools, and rural water. sanitation, maternal and child health, nutrition and child protection.
I have lived in different countries in Central Asia, East Asia and the Middle East for 36 years. Our three children are now grown, and I live in Kabul with my wife, Nora.
