Background

Purpose• Three-year cooperative agreements of innovations in
IPCP
• IPCP projects:
• Create and/or expand team-based, innovative practice environments
• Nurses and other professionals
• Engaged in collaborative practice
• Leadership, communication, mentoring
• Clinical training sites

Long-Term Goals of IPCP Program
• Increase the number of nurses skilled in IPCP
• Increase access to care and achieve high quality patient/population-centered outcomes
• Provide opportunities for innovative coordinate care programs for nursing and other professional disciplines engaged in existing and emerging organized health care systems

Award and Funding Details
• Form of a cooperative agreement
• Up to $500,000 maximum budget per year
• Project period is three years ( September 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015)
• Approximately 20 awards
NEPQR-IPCP Eligibility
• Accredited schools of nursing
• Health care facilities
• Partnerships of health care facilities and schools of nursing
Additional Eligibility Information
• All nursing and other professional programs conferring degrees must be accredited for the purposes of nursing and professional education
• Accreditation documentation must be included in the submitted application

Application Requirements
• Project Director is a licensed Registered Nurse
• Only one application per eligible applicant
• Documentation of established and adequate procurement systems
• Ensure budget reflects multi-year cooperative agreement work
• Ensure all proposed purchases satisfy cooperative agreement requirements
Additional Considerations
• Separate the narrative review process from the budget
• Consider the following: (1) whether the goals, objectives, and outcomes to be achieved by the project are clearly specified and measurable and are distinct from budget and (2) whether the budget section that has been proposed and the quality and appropriateness of the budget related to scope of the proposed project matches

Salary Limitation
• Have base salary of $179,700, exclusive of fringe and any income that an individual may earn outside of duties to the applicant organization
• Applies to sub awards/subcontracts
• Does not apply to consultants, although, they must meet the test of reasonableness and be consistent with the grantee's institutional policy.

Unallowable Costs
• Student support, including but not limited to tuition, stipends, scholarships, bonuses, subsidies, student books and fees or paid release time for program participants
• Payment of temporary personnel replacement costs for time trainees/participants who are away from usual worksite during involvement in project activities is not allowed.
