1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This is a existing mining lease for proposal for obtaing Environmnetal Clearance of

Quartz & Feldspar Mining Lease,producation Capacity 131040 TPA Near Village: Kaliba

ki Dhani, Tehsil- Kotputli , District -Jaipur (Rajasthan). The lease area is 4.50 ha which is an

Sawai Chak land.

The lease was granted in favor of Shri Mohan singh Rajput S/o Shri Bhanwar Singh on

2.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/ BACKGROUND INFORMATION

(i) Identification of Project and Project Proponent

This is a existing mining lease of proposal, with production capacity 131040 TPA Near

Village: Kaliba ki Dhani, Tehsil- Kotputli , District -Jaipur (Rajasthan).

(ii) Brief Description of the Nature of Project

This is a existing Quartz & Feldspar mining lease with production capacity 131040 TPA

Near Village: Kaliba ki Dhani, Tehsil- Kotputli , District -Jaipur (Rajasthan).Environmental

Clearance is required as per EIA Notification dated 2006, as amended time to time and

this project is comes under B Category.

(iii) Need for the Project & Its Importance to the Country/ Region

Quartz & Feldspar is mainly the basic raw material used in various manufacture of

different types of glass,plate glass ,glass shells etc.are the main consumers of this

quality of glass and the manufacture industries located at Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab,

uttranchal, MP, UP etc to fulfill the requirements in grinding units.

(iv) Demand – Supply Gap

Considering the demand of mineral sufficient availability of the mineral in the area, it

is essential to have Quartz & Feldspar mine to sustain the supply of mineral for

manufacture purpose.

(v) Imports vs. Indigenous Production





It is a Quartz & Feldspar mineral used in manufacture purpose in therefore export in

glass industries located at Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, uttranchal, MP, UP etc.

(vi) Export Possibility

There is export possibility as these mineral is Quartz & Feldspar mineral used in

manufacturing purpose in Glass industry therefore export at Rajasthan, Haryana,

Punjab, Uttranchal, MP, UP etc.

(vii) Domestic/Export Markets

Quartz & Feldspar has only domestic market and will fulfill the requirement of the

main consumers of this quality of glass and the manufacture industries.

(viii) Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) due to the Project

The total 71 skilled and semiskilled manpower needed to run the mine

There is no interlinked or interdependent project based on mineral produced.

The Quartz & Feldspar will be sold directly to industries.

(iii) Details of Alternate Sites Considered

No alternative site has been taken into consideration due to availability of mineral

resources in the area and State Govt. has invited applications. The mining lease was

allotted by lottery system to the applicant.

4. Method of Mining

Proposed method of mining will be semi mechanized opencast by forming proper benches.

The mining is proposed as per present situation of the deposit.

Excavation is proposed by blasting. Hydraulic excavator/loader is proposed for removal and

loading of blasted Quartz & Feldspar.The haul/ approach roads have been provided up to the

proposed working faces and will be provided in future also. The Quartz & Feldspar and waste

are proposed to be transported by tractor trolley and tippers.

The mining will be carried out by opencast method by developing the bench of height 6-6 m

height and width. Four slices are considered in a bench. The calculations are as per the four





slices of a bench. Thus the end position of the bench is 6 meter height. Width is also proposed

6 meter.

6. LOADING & TRANSPORT

Tyre mounted Hydraulic machinaries will be deployed from time to time and when

required. Trucks and tracor troley will be deployed for transportation of Quartz &

Feldspar from working to consumer.

7. WASTE GENERATION & DISPOSAL

There is no top soil and the generated waste will be second grade mineral and sold

out for other purpose.

8. CONCEPTUAL PLAN

At the conceptual stage, total waste material of about 173650 tonnes. At the end of life

of mine, total excavated area will be 2.52 ha. and 0.44 ha area use in Roads,

overburden dump, Infrastructure etc Which will converted as water reservoir and 1.48

ha. Area will be used in green belt around the lease periphery.

(vi) Raw Material Required Along With Estimated Quantity, Likely Source, Marketing

Area of Final Products, Mode of Transport of Raw Material and Finished Product

This is Quartz & Feldspar Mining Lease. The mineral will be used for manufacture

purposes. No raw material will be required to dependent industries.

(vii) Resources Optimization/ Recycling and Reuse Envisaged in the Project, if any,

should be briefly Outlined

Domestic sewage water generated from office toilet will be disposed in soak pits via

septic tank.

(viii) Availability of Water Its Source, Energy /Power Requirement and Source

A. Water requirement:

Total water requirement for the proposed project will be 4 KLD which will be

sourced from nearby villages.

B. Power requirement:

The electric power will not be use for the process of mining. Only HSD Fuel will be

required for operating machineries.





(ix) Quantity of Waste to Be Generated (Liquid and Solid) And Scheme for Their

Management/Disposal:

Domestic sewage water generated from office toilet will be disposed in soak pits via

septic tank.

4.0 SITE ANALYSIS

(i) Connectivity

The lease area about ~26.0 km from Kotputli in NE direction.Nearest Railway Station

is situated at Neem ka Thana RS ~27 km in SW direction. The lease area is well

connected through roads.

(ii) Land Form, Land Use and Land Ownership

Existing Land Use Pattern

The total ML area of 4.50 ha comprises of Sawai chak land.

(iii) Topography

The lease area is undulated terrains .The highest contour is 431 mRL and lowest is

413 mRL.

(iv) Existing Land Use Pattern {Agriculture, Non-Agriculture, Forest, Water Bodies

(Including Area Under CRZ)}, Shortest Distances From The Periphery Of The

Project To Periphery Of The Forests, National Park, Wild Life Sanctuary, Eco

Sensitive Areas, Water Bodies (Distance From The HFL Of The River), CRZ. In

Case Of Notified Industrial Area, A Copy Of The Gazette Notification.

(V) Existing Infrastructure:

The lease area about ~3.0 km from Village- Buchara and nearest city ~26.0 km from

Kotputli in NE direction.Nearest Railway Station is situated at Neem ka Thana RS ~27 km

in SW direction. The lease area is well connected through roads.

5.0 PLANNING BRIEF

Uses: This is a mining Project

(ii) Population Projection

Manpower required will be engaged from nearby areas. No significant influx of people is

anticipated in the area.

(iii) Assessment of Infrastructure Demand (Physical & Social)

Lessee will assess the demand of manufacuture (Physical & Social) in nearby area of the

proposed mine site and same will be developed under social work

(iv) Amenities/Facilities

Mining Management will develop the Amenities/Facilities in the nearby area of the

proposed mine site as per requirement of local people of the nearby area under

corporate social responsibility programs.

6.0 PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE

(i) Residential Area (Non Processing Area)

This is not required as mine workers comes from nearby villages. Rest shelter to the

workers already exists in the major mining lease of the lessee.

(ii) Green Belt

� Green belt will be developed on the approach road, surrounding the pit and also

be done outside the lease area equal to 33% of the lease area.

(iii) Connectivity

The lease area about ~3.0 km from Village- Buchara and nearest city ~26.0 km from

Kotputli in NE direction.Nearest Railway Station is situated at Neem ka Thana RS ~27 km

in SW direction. The lease area is well connected through roads.





(iv) Water Management (Source & Supply of water)

� Total water requirement for the project will be 4 KLD which will be used for

domestic as well as dust supression purpose and sourced from nearby village .

(v) Sewerage System

� Domestic sewage water generated from office toilet will be disposed in soak pits

via septic tank. Outside discharge is not envisaged.

(vi) Industrial Waste Management

� No industrial waste water will be generated from this mine mining operation.

(vii) Solid Waste Management

� The generated solid waste will be second grade mineral and sold to the nearby

market

(viii) Power Requirement & Supply/Source

� Electric power will not be required in mining operations.

7.0 REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT (R & R) PLAN

(i) Policy To Be Adopted (Central/State) In Respect Of The Project Affected Persons

Including Home Oustees, Land Oustees And Landless Laborers (Brief Outline To Be

Given)

The mining activity will be started after obtaining Environmental Clearance from

Ministry of Environment, forest & climate change

8.0 PROJECT SCHEDULE & COST ESTIMATES

The mining activity is done in the area and enhancement in production will be done after

Environmental Clearance from MoEF, Rajasthan and consent to establish and operate

from RSPCB.

(i) Total Project Cost : 50.0 Lacs

(ii) Environment Protection Cost : 1.0 Lakh Per annum

9.0 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN

AIR POLLUTION CONTROL

�� Plantation will be developed within ML areas and will also be developed outside

the ML area equal to 33% of the lease area.

�� Periodical water spraying on the roads will be done.

�� Proper maintenance of all machines will be carried out that will control emission

of gaseous pollutant.

WATER MANAGEMENT

�� There is no surface water body in and around the mining lease area.

�� The rain water collected in mining pit will be used in plantation and dust

suppression.

NOISE POLLUTION CONTROL

�� Proper maintenance of all machines will be carried out which will reduce noise

generation during operations.

LAND RECLAMATION

. At the end of life of mine, total excavated area will be 2.52 ha. and 0.44 ha area use

in Roads, overburden dump, Infrastructure etc Which will converted as water

reservoir and 1.48 ha. Area will be used in green belt around the lease periphery.

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

� The generated solid waste will be used for construction of infrastructer and

maintenances of kucha approach road time to time. There will no waste dump at

the end of life of the mine.

GREEN BELT DEVELOPMENT

Green Belt/plantation will be developed equal to 33% of total lease area. The trees

will be planted at suitable spacing to encourage proper growth around the lease





boundary. The dead plants will be replaced by fresh plants. Native Plant species

will be planted

SOCIO ECONOMIC IMPROVEMENT

�� As the mining activities will increase, better employment opportunity.

�� Semi skilled & unskilled workers will be recruited from the nearby villages.

�� Adult Education programme are proposed for up-gradation of literacy level.

�� The leesee will associate awarness programe.

HEALTH & SAFETY

�� Protective respiratory devices will be provided to personnel working in dusty

areas with adequate training.

�� The lessee will associate in various health and safety awarness program in

nearby villages.

10.0 ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL

� Proposed Masonry Mining Lease will result in growth of the surrounding areas by

increasing direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region including

ancillary development and supporting infrastructure. Special emphasis on Financial

and Social benefits will be given to the local people including tribal population, if any,

in the area.

� Development of social amenities will be in the form of medical facilities, education to

underprivileged and creation of self help groups.

� No major adverse effect on environment is envisaged as the required mitigation

measures are inbuilt in the project.
