• FAO1995CodeofConductforResponsibleFisheries(CCRF) setsthemodelguidanceforfisheriesmanagement:• Art.8:Statesshouldensurethathealthandsafetystandardsareadoptedforeveryoneemployedinfishingoperations.Suchstandardsshouldbenotlessthantheminimumrequirementsofrelevantinternationalagreementsonconditionsofworkandservice.

• FAO2014 InternationalVoluntaryGuidelinesonSecuringSustainableSmall-ScaleFisheries(VG-SSF) isthefirstinternationallyagreedinstrumentdedicatedentirelytotheSSFsector:• Part2(Sec.6):Callsforincreasedattentionandactiononissuesrelatedtodecentworkby,forexample,providingguidanceonoccupationalhealthandsafetyandmeasurestoimprovesafetyatsea.
