GENERATOR COIL PRESSURE TESTS NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS1. Erection work is completed and clearance taken from
project (Civil, Elect, Mech.)2. Ensure the Availability of Nitrogen cylinder of
required Pressure and purity3. Ensure the sealing of the generator windings cooling
water out let header. 4. Ensure the cooling water Inlet and outlet header
drain valve closed5. Check the cleanliness of external pipes from inside6. Availability of instrument to measure ambient
temperature7 Pressure gauge and temperature gauge is calibrated
REMARKS:Stator Winding IR and PI Test
S NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS1.
Generator Flexible links to be Opened 2. Other circuits not under test to be kept disconnected
and keep enough clearance3.
Insulation tester connections to be done correctly4. RTDs and Hydrogen tank to be guarded to Megger and
CTs’ secondary to be shorted5. Test device terminal lead, and the connection point with
windings are clean.
6 LAPT Panel to be in rack out condition7. Winding surface, core, and bushings should be free
from dust, moisture etc and clean.8 Ensure that NGT Knife gate to be opened

Stator Winding DC Resistance MeasurementS NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS

1. All the test devices connection should be correct.
2.Lead terminals of test kit and winding should be clean
3. Rotor shaft is connected through brush to earth properly.
4 Availability of instrument to measure ambient temperature
REMARKS:
DC/AC High Voltage TestS NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS1 IR testing of winding completed and values are
acceptable2.
Test lead not to touch ground surface.3. Rotor winding, Test kit earth point and all other portion
which are not under test to be properly earthed.4. Test transformer and all other connections to be done
correctly5. RTDs to be grounded and CTs’ secondary to be shorted
6. Availability of instrument to measure ambient temperature

ROTOR AIR TIGHTNESS TESTS NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS1.
Rotor is on proper support2.
External pipes to be used are clean from inside3. Flange joint between nitrogen pipe and rotor shaft is
properly tight.4. Nitrogen cylinder should be of moisture free and
proper purity.5 Pressure gauge and temperature gauges are
calibrated

ROTOR AIR FLOW TESTS NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS1. There must not be any leak point in the bellow from
test kit to rotor.2.
All ventilation holes of rotor are approachable 3. Compressed air should be of adequate pressure and
moisture free4
Flow measurement instrument is calibrated
REMARKS:
Rotor IR TestS NO ACTIVITY/CHECK STATUS1.
All the test devices connection should be correct

4.Test leads should not touch ground surface
5.bushing surface should be free from dust, moisture etc
6.Bushing insulation to be earthed properly.

Scheme.
