A. Christ in you has supreme

power and [authority].

1. He is able to save completely –

past, present and future.

2. Total authority is His in heaven and

earth.

“Then Jesus came and spoke to

them, saying, „All authority has been

given to Me in heaven and on earth.‟”

3. The Father has put all things under

Christ‟s rulership.

4. From the moment we receive this amazing

Christ, we have access to the greatness of

the loving Father!

“In that day you will ask in My name,

and I do not say to you that I shall pray the

Father for you; for the Father Himself loves

you, because you have loved Me, and have

believed that I came forth from God.”

John 16:26,27 NKJV™

1. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the

Father, accomplishing the Father‟s will

[by prayer].

“...It is Christ who died, and

furthermore is also risen, who is even at

the right hand of God, who also makes

intercession for us.”Romans 8:34 NKJV™

Page 11: Praying in the Authority of Jesus - HOME - Global Prayerglobalprayermovement.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seminar_1... · Praying in the Authority of Jesus 1. Theme: Power for praying

2. Jesus blends our prayers to the Father with

His own prayers in seven ways:

a. He aligns them with the Father‟s will.

“Now He who searches the hearts

knows what the mind of the Spirit is,

because He makes intercession for the

saints according to the will of God.”Romans 8:27 NKJV™

11

Page 12: Praying in the Authority of Jesus - HOME - Global Prayerglobalprayermovement.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seminar_1... · Praying in the Authority of Jesus 1. Theme: Power for praying

b. He authenticates them.

“You did not choose Me, but I chose

you and appointed you that you should

go and bear fruit, and that your fruit

should remain, that whatever you ask the

Father in My name He may give you.”

John 15:16 NKJV™

12

Page 13: Praying in the Authority of Jesus - HOME - Global Prayerglobalprayermovement.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seminar_1... · Praying in the Authority of Jesus 1. Theme: Power for praying

c. He expands them.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly

abundantly above all that we ask or think,

according to the power that works in us.”

Ephesians 3:20 NKJV™

d. He intercedes for them.

“…It is Christ who died, and furthermore is

also risen, who is even at the right hand of

God, who also makes intercession for us.”Romans 8:34 NKJV™

e. He empowers them.

“Therefore He is also able to save to the

uttermost those who come to God through

Him.”

Hebrews 7:25a NKJV™

f. He continues them.

“He ever lives to make intercession for

them.”

Hebrews 7:25b NKJV™

g. He sees that they get done.

“And whatever you ask in My name,

that I will do, that the Father may be

glorified in the Son. If you ask

anything in My name, I will do it.”

John 14:13,14 NKJV™

C. Christ is praying for people who pray.

1. He is praying for people who come to

God. “Coming to God” is a Bible synonym

for prayer.

2. When we pray in Jesus‟ name, we transfer

our concerns into His praying! He receives

our prayers, prays them with His supreme

authority, and accomplishes them at the

right hand of the Father.

3. Thus, God uses our prayers to make

righteous changes in human affairs.17

Page 18: Praying in the Authority of Jesus - HOME - Global Prayerglobalprayermovement.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seminar_1... · Praying in the Authority of Jesus 1. Theme: Power for praying

D. Believers are authorized to pray

in Jesus’ name.

“come to God through Him”

Hebrews 7:25 NKJV™

1. When we pray in Jesus‟ name, according

to His word, we use His authority.

“If you ask anything in My name,

I will do it.”John 14:14 NKJV™

The Father regards those prayers as coming

from Jesus Himself.

Page 20: Praying in the Authority of Jesus - HOME - Global Prayerglobalprayermovement.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seminar_1... · Praying in the Authority of Jesus 1. Theme: Power for praying

2. Praying in Jesus‟ name means that

Christ has given us “power of

attorney.” Christ has committed

Himself to guarantee [answers] to our

prayers as we [abide in Him] and

[His words] abide in us.

“If you abide in Me, and My words

abide in you, you will ask what you

desire, and it shall be done for you.”

John 15:7 NKJV™

20

Page 21: Praying in the Authority of Jesus - HOME - Global Prayerglobalprayermovement.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seminar_1... · Praying in the Authority of Jesus 1. Theme: Power for praying

3. The more we live in communion with Christ,

the better we can appropriate His authority.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If

anyone lives Me, he will keep My word; and

My Father will love him, and We will come

to him and make Our home with him.”

John 14:23 NKJV™

Conclusion:

The powerful part of our praying is to love

Jesus and to transfer our burdens into His

praying.
