Worship Gathering December 3, 2017

Whether you are a first-time guest or have been gathering with us for some time, we are glad you are with us today. We are a family of Jesus-followers who gather each week to worship God and scatter each week to reflect God. Thanks so much for worshipping with us. Please join us in reflecting God throughout the week.

Please complete a blue guest card from the back of the worship center seats and place it in the offering tray as it passes you. We would love to be able to contact you to say hello. If you would like to know more about being a Jesus-follower, being baptized, or becoming a part of Lafayette, you are invited to meet with those in the prayer room just after the sermon. Turn left as you exit the back of the worship center; the prayer room is on the right just past the kitchen.

1 Baby shower As followers of Jesus we love opportunities to share our possessions with one another. Today we have an opportunity to shower Hilary Lawson with baby girl gifts at her baby shower. All women are invited to the shower at 1:00pm in the fellowship hall. Lawson and Hilary Warren are on the gift registry at Target.

2 Angel Tree Angels are still available on the Angel Tree in the foyer. Take an angel, buy and wrap a gift, and return by December 17. Gifts will bless selected students from Selvidge Middle School, Woerther Elementary School, and Ballwin Elementary School.

3 24 hours of prayer To deepen our commitment to prayer we will have a 24 hour prayer vigil from 9:00am Saturday, December 16th until 9:00am on Sunday, December 17. Sign up in the foyer for a one hour time slot in which you will come to the prayer room and pray.

4 Lamenting With God How do believers live out faith in a prolonged season of pain and loss? We are seeking to recover a lost ancient resource — the language of lament. This adult study is in the worship center, 15 minutes after the worship gathering concludes. Be listening for the “call to lament,” today featuring Etta James.

5 Prayer huddles On Wednesday, December 6, immediately after class, we will have our fourth of five times for Prayer Huddles in the prayer room, foyer, and fellowship hall.

6 Dinner with the ministers On Wednesday, December 6 you’re invited to join Mike Brown, Bob Clark, and Kyle Johnson at Raising Cane’s in Ellisville for dinner and conversation. The fun begins at 5:45pm. We will head to the church building about 6:45 for classes at 7:00pm.

Merciful God, Deliver. Deliver us. Deliver us from the evil one. Rescue. Rescue us. Rescue us from the evil one.

Deliver. Rescue. Us. From the evil one.

In Jesus’s name, AMEN.

Welcome to Lafayette

A prayer for deliverance
