4 I always thank my God as Iremember you in my prayers,5 because I hear about your faith inthe Lord Jesus and your love for allthe saints.6 I pray that you may be active insharing your faith, so that you willhave a full understanding of everygood thing we have in Christ.

Why do you think Paul prayed that for his close

friend Philemon?

So that he would have a fullunderstanding of every goodthing we have in Christ.

Paul might have sensed he wasn’t sharing faith.

One of the biggest dangers of a Christian life is what we called Self-centered

Christianity.

Sometimes we compare ourselvesto others. Always remember we arenot called to compare ourselves toothers or judge others but to loveothers!

How do you show your love to others?

By sharing things that areimportant and eternal. Thatis to share your faith tothem.

Why don’t we share faith?

We forget the importance of it. We are selfish, afraid to be rejected.

We feel we are not qualified, or sometimes we don’t know how

to share it.

If you fully understand our faith,then you will share.

If you know the importance of it,you will share.

If you know who you are and thepower of God in you, you willshare.

You will share your faith becauseyou know that it will change thelives of the people you aresharing to; and there will be agreat impact in their lives.

38 Peter replied, “Repent and bebaptized, every one of you, in thename of Jesus Christ for theforgiveness of your sins. And you willreceive the gift of the Holy Spirit.39 The promise is for you and yourchildren and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God willcall.”

Have you come to a placein your life that if youdied, you know that youhave done God’s purposein your life?

If not yet, then Pray for God’s will be done in your life.

1 As he went along, he saw a manblind from birth.2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, whosinned, this man or his parents, thathe was born blind?”3 “Neither this man nor his parentssinned,” said Jesus, “but thishappened so that the works of Godmight be displayed in him.

4 As long as it is day, we must do theworks of him who sent me. Night iscoming, when no one can work.5 While I am in the world, I am thelight of the world.”6 After saying this, he spit on theground, made some mud with thesaliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.

7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Poolof Siloam” (this word means “Sent”).So the man went and washed, andcame home seeing.8 His neighbors and those who hadformerly seen him begging asked,“Isn’t this the same man who used tosit and beg?”

9 Some claimed that he was. Otherssaid, “No, he only looks like him.” Buthe himself insisted, “I am the man.”10 “How then were your eyes opened?”they asked.11 He replied, “The man they call Jesusmade some mud and put it on myeyes. He told me to go to Siloam andwash. So I went and washed, and thenI could see.”

12 “Where is this man?” they askedhim. “I don’t know,” he said.

7 When a Samaritan woman came todraw water, Jesus said to her, “Willyou give me a drink?”8 (His disciples had gone into thetown to buy food.)9 The Samaritan woman said to him,“You are a Jew and I am a Samaritanwoman. How can you ask me for adrink?” (For Jews do not associatewith Samaritans.)

10 Jesus answered her, “If you knewthe gift of God and who it is that asksyou for a drink, you would have askedhim and he would have given youliving water.”11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you havenothing to draw with and the well isdeep. Where can you get this livingwater?

12 Are you greater than our fatherJacob, who gave us the well and drankfrom it himself, as did also his sonsand his livestock?”13 Jesus answered, “Everyone whodrinks this water will be thirsty again,14 but whoever drinks the water I givethem will never thirst. Indeed, thewater I give them will become in thema spring of water welling up to eternallife.”

15 The woman said to him, “Sir, giveme this water so that I won’t getthirsty and have to keep coming hereto draw water.”16 He told her, “Go, call your husbandand come back.”17 “I have no husband,” she replied.Jesus said to her, “You are right whenyou say you have no husband.

18 The fact is, you have had fivehusbands, and the man you now haveis not your husband. What you havejust said is quite true.”19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can seethat you are a prophet.20 Our ancestors worshiped on thismountain, but you Jews claim that theplace where we must worship is inJerusalem.”

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believeme, a time is coming when you willworship the Father neither on thismountain nor in Jerusalem.22 You Samaritans worship what youdo not know; we worship what we doknow, for salvation is from the Jews.

23 Yet a time is coming and has nowcome when the true worshipers willworship the Father in the Spirit and intruth, for they are the kind ofworshipers the Father seeks.24 God is spirit, and his worshipersmust worship in the Spirit and intruth.”

25 The woman said, “I know thatMessiah” (called Christ) “is coming.When he comes, he will explaineverything to us.”26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the onespeaking to you—I am he.”

16 Once when we were going to theplace of prayer, we were met by afemale slave who had a spirit bywhich she predicted the future. Sheearned a great deal of money for herowners by fortune-telling.17 She followed Paul and the rest ofus, shouting, “These men are servantsof the Most High God, who are tellingyou the way to be saved.”

18 She kept this up for many days.Finally Paul became so annoyed thathe turned around and said to thespirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ Icommand you to come out of her!” Atthat moment the spirit left her.

19 When her owners realized that theirhope of making money was gone,they seized Paul and Silas anddragged them into the marketplace toface the authorities.20 They brought them before themagistrates and said, “These men areJews, and are throwing our city intoan uproar21 by advocating customs unlawful forus Romans to accept or practice.”

22 The crowd joined in the attackagainst Paul and Silas, and themagistrates ordered them to bestripped and beaten with rods.23 After they had been severelyflogged, they were thrown intoprison, and the jailer was commandedto guard them carefully.24 When he received these orders, heput them in the inner cell andfastened their feet in the stocks.

25 About midnight Paul and Silaswere praying and singing hymns toGod, and the other prisoners werelistening to them.26 Suddenly there was such a violentearthquake that the foundations ofthe prison were shaken. At once allthe prison doors flew open, andeveryone’s chains came loose.

27 The jailer woke up, and when hesaw the prison doors open, he drewhis sword and was about to killhimself because he thought theprisoners had escaped.28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harmyourself! We are all here!”29 The jailer called for lights, rushedin and fell trembling before Paul andSilas.

30 He then brought them out andasked, “Sirs, what must I do to besaved?”31 They replied, “Believe in the LordJesus, and you will be saved—you andyour household.”32 Then they spoke the word of theLord to him and to all the others inhis house.

33 At that hour of the night the jailertook them and washed their wounds;then immediately he and all hishousehold were baptized.34 The jailer brought them into hishouse and set a meal before them; hewas filled with joy because he hadcome to believe in God—he and hiswhole household.

35 When it was daylight, themagistrates sent their officers to thejailer with the order: “Release thosemen.”36 The jailer told Paul, “Themagistrates have ordered that youand Silas be released. Now you canleave. Go in peace.”

37 But Paul said to the officers: “Theybeat us publicly without a trial, eventhough we are Roman citizens, andthrew us into prison. And now dothey want to get rid of us quietly? No!Let them come themselves and escortus out.”38 The officers reported this to themagistrates, and when they heardthat Paul and Silas were Romancitizens, they were alarmed.

39 They came to appease them andescorted them from the prison,requesting them to leave the city.40 After Paul and Silas came out of theprison, they went to Lydia’s house,where they met with the brothers andsisters and encouraged them. Thenthey left.

A life that displayed the power of God.A life that glorifies God.A life that is dedicated to God.A life that displays the presence of God.

The best thing we could do is to pray and actively

share our faith with full understanding of every

good thing!

6 I pray that you may be active insharing your faith, so that you willhave a full understanding of everygood thing we have in Christ.

We should do all things for the glory of God.

Paul is saying, "Philemon, I knowyou have fellowship as a priority,I want it to be powerful;

I know you're concerned aboutknowledge and I want it to be theknowledge of every good thingthat is in you.

I know you want all of this forChrist's sake," that's implied. Inother words, you're concernedabout the glory of Christ. You doit unto Him.

The Christian life with all itsdeeds, with all its joys, with all itsworks, with all its responsibilitiesis for the glory of Christ, it's forChrist's sake, it's for Christ'sname, it's for Christ's praise, forJesus Christ's glory!

16 For I am not ashamed of thegospel, because it is the power ofGod that brings salvation to everyonewho believes: first to the Jew, then tothe Gentile.
