BIC CTU was founded in May 1991 as the first such centre in the
CEEC with the assistance of:
• Czech government,
• European Union.
Starting in 1992 it was built up as a Phare programme pilot project.
The Centre occupies an area of 2 ha on the west side of Prague:
• near highway D5 towards Pilsen,
• about 20 minutes from Prague airport and
• 20 minutes from the main campus of the university.

• 65 clients (enterprises) have passed through the incubator of our Centre. – 41 innovative companies, – 14 service companies.
• 20 innovative companies were established by research workers or graduates of CTU,– 3 companies were established by students.

provides advisory and specialised services in the field of water management and the environment.
• Spin-off company with three employees (two research workers and one student).
• Over a period of five years, the company transformed itself from a limited liability company into a joint-stock company.

• In 1996, it was the first company from the Czech Republic to be awarded the prestigious Information Technology European Award.
• The company co-operates very closely with the Danish Hydraulic Institute, which ranks among the top institutes in its field.
