Poverty means???

Poverty is the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money.

Lack of basic human needs such as food,water,shelter,sanitation,education,healthcare.

Relative poverty:

Relative poverty refers to the standard that is defined in terms of society in which an individual lives and therefore differs between countries and over time.

Absolute poverty:Absolute poverty is

a level of poverty as defined in terms of the minimal requirements.

That is extreme poverty……

It is defined as the absence of enough resources to secure basic life needs.

For example, a person who lives in a home with a mud floor is considered severely deprived of shelter. Person who never attended school and cannot read is considered severely deprived of education. A person who has no newspaper,radio,television is considered severely deprived of information. All people who meet any two of these conditions are the people in ABSOLUTE POVERTY.

Causes of poverty Rapid rising population:

The population during last 45 years has increased at the rate of 2.2%per annum.on average 17 million peoples are added every year which raises the demand for consumption goods.

Low productivity in agriculture:

The level of productivity in agriculture is low due to subdivided and fragmented holdings, lack of capital, use of traditional methods of cultivation. This is the main cause of poverty in the country.

The rate of economic development in India has been below the required level.Therefore,there persists a gap between level of availability and requirements of goods and services. The net result is poverty.

Due to politicians the country get corrupted because poverty is the mass destruction of people. They enjoy the luxury life by making black money and making the country to get debt from other countries. Due to this the above things happens.
