Public Wi-Fi network with restricted capacity and shared bandwith in the central part of the town;

No broadband internet in the rest of the municipality.

ULTRAFAST Broadband technology with a download speed of at least 100Mbps;

Network Architecture: Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH), Every subscriber is connected trough an optical cable to the Point-Of-Presence;

Passive optical network (PON) technology;

Network Topology combination of a P2MP and P2P topology;

Investment Proposal – Highlights

Geographic coverage

The municipal town and the locality of Sasa;

1888 households out of the 2693 total households of the municipality;

Scope of the investment: passive optical infrastructure

Capital Investment: 313,952.58 Euros;

Operational costs: minimal and transferred to the private partner

Period of contracting: 20 years (life of the optical infrastructure)

Ownership: Municipality

The selected PPP model is a Joint Investment;

The business model is based on a three level Open access network, where the end user is at the fourth level;

The proposed PPP model is selected as a result of the mapping process, legal requirements, the preferences of the Public partner and the specifics of the chosen broadband technology;

The expected impact is identified in the area of economic development, development of rural areas, improvement of public services, strengthening tourism, employment, and enabling supportive business environment.
