Facts and figuresThe Financial Times has ranked IESE as the top business school in the world for executive education for the second consecutive year. The newspaper highlighted IESE’s international scope and reach, faculty and participants' satisfaction.

IESE comes closest of any school since the Financial Times ranking was launched in 1999 to topping both rankings –for open and custom programs.

In this year’s survey, IESE’s custom programs for teams and companies also earned top praise from clients for the second year in a row. The ranking reflects customer satisfaction with the flexibility, personalization and global scope and reach offered by our programs. Recent custom programs include Airbus, Amadeus, BBVA, Danone, Michelin and Oracle.

Our suite of open programs has moved up one spot from last year to rank second in the world. This is thanks to excellence in design, faculty expertise, direct impact on organizations and careers, and the fact that the learning experience exceeds customer expectations. Open programs for executives are taught from IESE’s campuses in Barcelona, Madrid, New York, Munich and Sao Paulo.

The ranking also highlights IESE’s international allianceswith top business schools like Harvard, Wharton and CEIBS.

Smart City: the need of partnerships

Facing those challenges implies a huge amount of resources, human, economical and sociopolitical.

Public authorities on their own will not be able to face them, not only because maybe they don’t have the financial resources need it, but because it needs a complex sum of solutions that go beyond public authorities needs and points of view.

That is why, smart solutions need the support of private firms, social actors and citizen’s complicity and participation.

Collaboration will be a key issue on making successful a Smart City strategy, but the use of technology as a tool, the engagement of citizens and embracing new business models will also be essential to improve a Smart City strategy, thanks to an innovative Public-Private Partnership.

What is a PPP?

Public private partnerships can take a wide range of forms varying in the degree of involvement of the private entity in traditionally public infrastructure. A publicprivate partnership is generally memorialized in a contract or agreement to outlinethe responsibilities of each party and clearly allocate risk. The graph below depictsthe spectrum of public private partnership agreements.
