• The concepts for the Pōwhiri Poutama framework were developed from Paraire Huata based on the framework of the Pōwhiri.

• The process of its application to a counselling social work setting was developed and adapted by Dr Rawiri Waretini-Karena based on the A to E process. A framework applied in Te Whiuwhiu o te Hau Māori Counselling program that was standardised in 2004.

Aroha ki te tangata Respect for peoples
