INTRODUCTION
Heart is a muscular organ. Situated in the thoracic cavity It has a size of clenched fist. Protected by double layered
membrane called pericardium.
OUTER STRUCTURE OF HEART
Heart is conical in shape. Protected by double layered
membrane-Pericardium. The space between two layers
are filled with pericardial fluid .
FUNTIONS OF HEART
Pumping the blood to various parts of body for circulating nutrients and oxygen.
Blood pumped to lungs for purification.
INNER PARTS OF HEART
Four chambered – two Atria , two ventricles
Superior and inferior vena cava Aorta Pulmonary artery Pulmonary vein Tricuspid valve Bicuspid valve
PULMONARY ARTERY
Blood vessel carry deoxygenated blood from right ventricle to lungs for purification
VENA CAVA
Veins carry deoxygenated blood from various body parts to right atrium.
1.Superior vena cava2. Inferior vena cava
CONCLUSION
Heart pump blood to all parts of the body . It work as a pump . The structure of heart is well suitable for it’s function . Higher organisms have complex blood vascular system compared to lower organisms
