Teacher: "I'm going to play some open pitches and I want you to echo back. I'm going to play four beats and you echo directly back to me. The beat is going to stay steady the whole time. Get your instruments up and ready."
Once the student has learned some of the first five notes. You can use these one measure echoes.
Teacher: "Look at your notes in the middle of page 5. I'm going to play some echoes for you starting on the first note. You listen and echo back to me. The beat is going to stay steady the whole time. Listen, watch and do the best you can."
When the student has learned five notes comfortably you can begin these echoes.Teacher: "I'm going to play some echoes now using all five notes. These echoes will be two measures long or eight beats. Because they are a little longer you will have to listen closely. I'll start with just two notes and I'll only move by step. The beat stays steady the entire time so have your instruments up and ready."

• Prepare a list of songs for your “home” recital. You may play songs from any music you have---books, packets, holiday packets etc. This assignment is due on Monday Jan. 6.
• You may play duets/trios with family members. • Practice your selection of songs in preparation for your recital. • Play your recital for family/friends during these three weeks. You need to have enough songs for about
10 minutes or longer. You can play by yourself or with another band instrument. • The goals are to practice, prepare a recital, present your recital to family/friends and have fun! • Have the audience members sign the bottom of this sheet so your band director knows who was in
your audience.
