Short history...
• 1940 : first power window for cars was introduced in the Packard 180 series
• It remained a luxury feature for many years. Most vehicles had windows that were operated by a hand- turned crank.
• 1980 : Slowly it became a standard feature . The development of new electric window systems increased.
• 2000 : Many vehicle manufacturers eliminated hand-cranked windows completely.
• 2010: Power windows have become so common that producers consider it as a standard option.
