Page 2: Power point saeed

Textile designing is essentially the process of creating designs for, knitted or printed fabrics or surface ornamented fabrics.

Textile designers are involved with the production of these designs,

which are used, sometimes repetitively, in clothing and interior decor items. In other words, textile design is a process from the raw

material into finished product.

ROLE OF COMPUTERS IN TEXTILE & DESIGNING

The computer facilitates many aspects of the creative process for textile designers, particularly for visualization and experimentation.

The aim of this course is to offer new opportunities for textile designers, or teachers of textiles, to explore their creative options by using a computer to extend beyond the traditional methods...

A Technical Textiles Designer devises products to meet performance specifications and develops prototypes. They use specialist Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to produce a range of designs.

“COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN SOFTWARE (CAD)”

Computer-aided design (CAD), also known as computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), is the use of computer technology for the process of design and design-documentation.

Computer Aided Drafting describes the process of drafting with a computer. CADD software, or environments, provides the user with input-tools for the purpose of streamlining design processes; drafting, documentation, and manufacturing processes.

CAD may be used to design curves and figures in two-dimensional (2D) space; or curves, surfaces, and solids in three-dimensional (3D) objects.

Software can help students draw, create woven textures, drape models to create patterns, adjust sizes and even determine fabric colors. By Introducing this technological aspect will enable students to understand a lot better and try various combinations in their design.

“DISADVANTAGES”By introducing computer technology, our cultural textile and

designing are neglectedUnemployment is increased, because where10 worker worked,

now 5 are working.Being trained on today's software does not guarantee it will be

used when you are ready to go out into the field.
