Keep thy heart with all diligence;for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23

Guard your heart for out of it comes what happens in your life. Keep watch over the thoughts, dreams, visions, and desires of your heart for actions come out of it that will affect you and the people in your

life.

What you want will happen. Be careful. What you desire will come to pass. Be careful.

In a moment, you can think something that will have great consequences. Be careful.

Things can get tricky when dealing with the heart.

The heart is deceitful. It can deceive you into thinking that things will be all right when reality says they won’t. The heart will deceive you

into believing that people are against you when they aren’t. The heart can deceive you into wanting what you cannot have.

The heart can deceive you into denial and making excuses when you should face obstacles head on. When presented with hardship,

disappointment or disaster, the heart can make you think things you will regret.

What you let enter your heart will affect everything you do. Every negative, destructive, harmful thought you allow in your heart will

determine what you do and what happens to you.

If you wish someone harm, that person could get hurt. If you think murderous thoughts, someone could die. Be careful with your

heart. It affects everything you do – how you treat people, how you respond to people, how you live.

Stand guard over your heart. Keep out what can do damage. Don’t let what is in your heart hurt yourself or anyone else.

In 2014, Bishop Abraham Shanklin along with wife Pastor Ingrid Shanklin of New Life Fellowship International Ministries founded The Center of Transformation, located in Hanover, Maryland. The church recently hosted author R. C. Blakes, Jr., who provided wisdom from his book entitled “The Father Daughter Talk”. This book is an absolute must read as it explores the disintegration of female dignity, values and morals. Our girls today are bombarded with the glorification of video vixens, degrading names and the acceptance of multiple partners! Still, our girls – our treasures – have the ability to reverse the high rate of fatherlessness by making better choices in the men they choose as mates. Equally important are our men. On Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 8:30am to 4:00pm, New Life Fellowship International Ministries and The Coalition of Ministries to Men will sponsor “MAN UP”. Last week, I witnessed a powerful event at Set The Captives Free Outreach Ministries, under the spiritual leadership of Dr. Karen Bethea. First, a film was shown – “SPIT’IN ANGER: Venom of a Fatherless Son” by Kenneth Braswell. Afterwards, a panel of therapists discussed the pain associated with the 82.3% of African American children who live in homes without

their biological father. The presentation exposed the raw emotion felt by men who had damaged connections or no interaction with their father. And therapy was offered at the end of the program in an adjacent room. Notably, hundreds of people attended, and grown men wept quietly in their seats. Bottom line, perhaps the best way to eliminate the rejection felt by fatherless children is for each man to love the mother of his child. Regardless of the father’s current relationship status, children need to witness the love and respect a man has for their mother. Ephesians 6:4 - And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Join Rev.
